Another tip is to use a liquid sealer inside the silicon hoses where you clamp them. I cannot recall what it was called, but the stuff I used was sourced from the air force. it's like a grease, it never dries hard or "sets" but is almost like a sticky lubricant to seat and seal the hoses.
When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.
