Has anyone installed one of these kits: http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dep ... WITH%20MAF
I'm considering going this route rather than the "2004 SE Turbo AEM Air Intake" route since the AEM intake alone costs A$599 whereas the FM kit costs US$595 AND also includes the "SE Stainless Steel Throttle Body Pipe" (MX5Mania:A$220), "O2 signal modifier" (A$???) and "GFB recirculating bypass valve" (A$???).
ie. There's at LEAST A$400 worth of additional "kit" which I'll probably end up buying anyway.
With the strong value of the A$ at the momemt, it seems too good to pass up, even allowing for S&H costs.
Are there any reasons why I shouldn't do this? (ie. Compliance issues? Do we have additional hardware under our hood that prevents it from fitting?)
The thing I do find odd is that FM mounted their air filter near the rear firewall - the AEM Air Intake is mounted at the front of the car which surely must get cooler air?
- Any feedback appreciated

Lot of the Mazdaspeed guys in US use this.
However, i think there might be space issues with our ABS and stuff due to LHD.
Bit of research required

Thanks for the feedback - the AEM Air Intake alone looks extremely expensive though compared to the complete FM intake kit.

I don't disagree.
What I do disagree with is that the AEM Air Intake costs A$599 here and US$231 if I import it from the US.
If I do decide to import something from the US, then why just limit myself to the exact same limited range I have here in Australia. I'm looking at all possible options, not just cheap options.
In this day of the "global internet shop", where shipping delays are minimal, there's no reason why we have to pay outrageously high prices for anything.

That's just what I've done.
I ordered the AEM Air Filter from http://speedcraze.com/aem_advanced_engi ... 7197.aspx; cost was US$376.74 including P&H. This works out to A$414.55 at the current rate which is a lot less than A$599 when bought here in Australia and that price doesn't include postage.
With the savings I can purchase the Throttle Body Inlet pipe (http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dep ... r=02-10660) and O2 Signal Modifier (http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dep ... r=07-46300) from Flying Miata. I don't need their GFB recirculating bypass valve (http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dep ... r=05-90120) since the previous owner had already installed that.
