High mounted manifold for NB's?
just a quick question, anyone know of companies that make high mount manifolds for the mx5's?
this particular setup is a custom manifold, is that the only way?
Cheers.
Adam.

There were some dodgy ebay manifolds that were high mount
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

What's the advantage of high mount over low mount?
MX5 Wanted. SE or NC (forced induction preferred )

form over function i think. It would have a higher centre of gravity so make the car handle worse.

I've read about high mounted turbo melting paint on the bonnet.
I think for the mx5 there is sufficient space for a low mount, with an appropriate size.
Whereas performance cars, ie/ GTR, supra etc, that can handle larger turbos, can't fit low mounted, not enough space.
Most Evo's low mount turbos because they don't have enough space up top (being east west layout)
It's all to do with the space required.

Not really, but I don't like things that are just for show, and I've read about them melting bonnet paint so thought I'd share the negatives of it.

Yeah, hiigh, low or mid mount is generally just to make the packaging in the engine bay easier.
When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.
