NA6 Turbo Adelaide Update

Ditto with the wideband.
I'm in Sydney and in Wollongong every second weekend.
6 psi should get you around 100kw easy
Since the car is in Adelaide (right?) how did they get the 12psi tune?
Was it through the MS EBC? or a MBC/external box?

With Autotune you should have a driving map in about 1/2 hour.
You are welcome to a drive of mine if you like to see what 6 psi does (I killed the EBC) :(
Huh?

Maybe try Shaun at Boostworx (Panorama), he's one of the few that I've not heard anyone say anything bad about

Many thanks for the support guys!

I have the car booked in to Fours'n'More (located at Pooraka) for next Thursday/Friday - I will update all after this tune.

Sean - thanks for the kind offer but I am not confident in playing around with this sort of thing, I'd rather let an expert use their knowledge to hopefully meet my expectations.

Ampz - Well I was hoping for more than 115rwkw particularly as it has some upgraded components... Yes the car is in Adelaide, I don't know how he got the 12 psi but that is what he has told us. It was through the MS EBC. What sort of EBC were you running and how did it die?

I can't wait til it's all sorted and get a chance to meet you guys on a club run or maybe even at the track!

Yet another update... Car will be picked up tomorrow after another tune. Power output is around 150rwkw on 17-18 psi. This power is a bit lower than other people's and I put this down to the change in compression to 7.8:1 from std and there may also be a bit of power loss due to exhaust size as I think my exhaust may be a 2 1/4" all the way through but I need to check once I get the vehicle back. I think this power will keep me happy for a quite a while though.

It has been a long long and expensive process to get to this point. I should probably update my garage section with more details on the whole project as others can learn from some of my learnings, particularly other fellow Adelaideans who may be thinking about going legally turbo.

Nice results mate. You should post up your details in the new turbo section. Lots of good learning and info in your build up.

Thanks Sean, I have posted my details in the new turbo section. I really can't wait to get behind the wheel to enjoy the car (fingers crossed I should have it by mid-Dec). :D

Well I picked my car up yesterday and it is absolutely fantastic! The frustration, set backs and cash has been worth it. The car is great to drive, good handling and enough power. I am going to be having a lot of fun in 2009!

Thanks to everyone once again for their support and knowledge...

Adam, absolutely - I am definitely satisfied with Brenton's work. Very good rates too and he can tune anything. Now that he has tuned my MSPNP he should (if you went to him) be able to tune yours even quicker!

All, I'd thought I'd update this thread with a follow up!

It's been 6 months since it has been on the road and the other day I took the heat shield off to review the tightness of various nuts and noticed that I was losing power through some nuts being less than tight. Since re-tightening it feels much more responsive and a bit quicker (could be imagination - who knows??). Have been doing the regular 5k oil changes and it hasn't missed a beat. Still quite happy with the results!

Oh and the father-in-law is now building his into a boost whore! So it will be interesting to compare power etc once his is built as he is using different components with a base engine.
