I read an article years ago on using a larger RX7 O2 sensor (google mania intake on site:autospeed.com) if that helps. So still mazda brand but may mean you have more options.

Pretty much everything else means you mean need to join the new wires to the old connector plug. Four wire sensor with 18 watt heater and
ground isolated case is what's required for an NA8.
The Bosch Universal 4 wire sensor 0 258 986 505 works. It comes with an adaptor plug that takes 20 minutes of fiddling to splice in. Check prices through Repco etc.

It's a direct swap at the sensor end. The adaptor is purely for the wiring.
