NA6 Thermofan switch replacement

Long story short; I broke the thermofan switch on the thermostat housing. Replaced with Tridon TFS139 which opens at 85degC and closes at 80degC. OEM opens/closes around 90/85.
Obviously had to cut the wire to original switch and used a flat blade 5mm female brass crimp connector (and a bit of heatshrink sleeve).

That thermostat is a good 10decC colder than the OEM unit. Any reason? I'm guessing to mate with the new sensor which would be quite a lot cheaper than an OEM replacement?
