Chances are you won't find an engineer willing to certify the bar anyhow.
Tell Mt plod it's a style bar not a roll bar -that way it doesn't require certification - Not sure on measurements but a style bar also wont require padding.

NSW RMS\RTA has again changed there car modification scheme in October this year (2013).
Does anyone know what is required now for a turbo conversion on a NA8?
-Engineer Cert?
-Brake test on air strip or possible upgrade?
-Emissions test?
-All the above?
It looks to have changed significantly.
Also reintroduced small engine size increases from same family with just blue slip. Think they removed it at one stage.
Any help is appreciated.

Based on cars passed since the new scheme, my understanding:
Engineers cert - YES
Brake test or Upgrade - Engineer to advise based on other mods, I've seen cars pass the new scheme going from NA to FI without a brake upgrade.
Emissions test - YES is the starting point, although there are some exclusions. It's pretty easy to pass these days with E85.
Admittedly I haven't seen an NA/NB go through the new system, only NC SC and non MX5s.
Best bet would be to call an engineering signatory (RMS will give you a list). Don't bother with the RMS technical line, they will give you a different answer each time you call.

I have spoken to RMS. Basically beat me around the bush and gave me a bunch of hoohaa.
Thanks.. now just got to figure out what the cost of it all getting it legit.. ill give an engineer a call.
