Just trying to get my head around Winton, Where is the pit area we'll be using for the track day at Winton - is it the area A or B or neither?

Is the short track the bit without the blue part and the long track the whole thing minus the little connector between the blue ends?

the long track includes the blue line. the short track just uses that short bit of roads between the start and end of the blue line.

the on / off points to the pit area are not shown on that map. you get on just before that "b" bit, and you get off just after the "a" bit, directly across from the short track bit that cuts thru the middle of the long track.

errr... make sense?

well at least that is how the pits where set up at our last sprint day there. but then at the 6 hour they actually used the pit lane , which is the other non blue bit on the long track.

clear as mud?

I've looked at the big drawing and can see the in and out routes you're talking about, so that's understood.

The W.A. members have another meeting tomorrow night to help finalize some of our plans.

I think we'll be doing the 2 day trek with the S.A. club to Beechworth.

I'm planing on spending a week or so in Melbourne afterwards and would love to do a Great Ocean road run, or head home via the great ocean road.

Perhaps we could do the black spur.

... and drink a few beers during at night.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Now there's a challenge :D

Okibi is right. The only way to match the Vic's is to run R compound tyres. And then there is the problem of getting them there and learning a new track.

If I come down Sam, you will have to show me the fastest lines and not dissapear into the distance like you did at Phillip Island.

Just thinking ... maybe we could all agree to run street tyres at Winton, including the Vic members. It would level the playing field a bit better and ease the logistics for the interstaters.

Me too

Just bought myself a budget lappy so I have something to dump all the photos on and write a Natmeet article for the club mag.

A couple of us are thinking Gilgandra on 19 Mar, Wagga on 20 Mar and then a short run to Beechworth on 21 Mar. Haven't made any motel bookings yet. Interested?
