Heard that there's a couple of defectors from Mazdaspeed Motorsport Development over to Hyundai Performance Racing.
Good luck this weekend Mark

Not total 'defection' Ian, as we will a have a foot dipped in both ponds for a while, but 'door to door' in your d/d MX is not a settled way to go. Will be at Morgan Park, and if there is anyone you know who would like to see/drive a very 'trackable road car' OR a very 'roadable track car' that will be available, invite them to come along:)

Accommodation is tight in Warwick because of the show. Therefore, looks like the family will be heading up Saturday morning stopping in to have breakfast at Aratula before heading to Morgan Park.
There are still spots available by the way, however the less people who attend the more track time for attendees
Car is being serviced and given a check up, then off to change the alignment, I may even bring the passenger seat

I'll have to chalk today up as a bit of a lost opportunity.
Thanks for all the help, advice, tools, stands, lunch and offers of assistance in getting home. Really appreciated.
Just wanted to let you all know that the car made it back fine in the end. Heater/AC on full blast the whole way. Unfortunately the rain meant the roof had to stay up. Guess it was worse for you brave souls still out on the track.
Hope the rest of you had a good one. See you again soon.
PS. And thanks to Jaye for all of the chats Sorry I didn't get to take you out for a spin mate. (Not literally )

Good news Ian! Ben gave Jaye a literal spin in the 86. The afternoon ended up to be very slippery

Ian glad to hear you made it home. It was good to get a bit of rain driving practice but I'll need more of that!

A quick video in reverse...
A great time chasing down Joel in the SDT 86 in interesting weather conditions, gave up as T2 became very slippery (and fun to drift). Will make another video of other footage, some interesting stuff was seen
Must thank all the people who did not come and allowed those who did all the track/instructor time. Also hello to Peter Millar who just purchased a racing green NB (and new club member) who got his first taste of Morgan Park. I think Peter enjoyed himself.
DID YOU FINALLY GET TO USE YOUR WET WEATHER TYRES MARK?!?!?!?!? :O

Mark,a quick suggestion for safety, helmet visor down when driving on the track, even in a closed car.
As a firie I have seen the result of stuff flying around in a car and it aint pretty.
Also I find it better to have a tinted visor for clear days and clear visor for wet weather, only take a minute to change.
Also, great to see you out there and hopefully you picked up more tips.
Some of the best driver training is done in wet conditions where car control is a lot harder and you learn so much more at a slower speed

NO anyway they were not packedNd it was more of a light dusting that just raised the crap to the surface, there was not enough rain to wash the track clean
MattR good points on the visor however I normally have safetyglasses on. Ridding a motorbike I understand how much a little bug hurts. Even with sunnies on and the visor up the bugs always find flesh
All in all a great day, tried new things. However have a nasty clunk in the RL I need to investigate

Had a look at the data today (instead of studying for an exam) and had to go down to the car an check what I found.....
The data showed only ever about 80% TPS was used, checking the car, the panel near the accelerator had slipped down and would not allow the accelerator to go to 100%. Scary thing would have been if the panel jammed the throttle on...
Will have to secure this panel next weekend, amongst other things.
