Hi guys,
Production Sports Car Racing Association of Queensland (PSCRAQ) are running an Mx-5 only race event on the 14th of May 2016 at Lakeside Raceway.
This will be a chance to get out and have a great time against cars of similar speeds, with some good close racing.
The categories will be as per normal PSCRAQ which is CAMS 2F and CAMS 2B - I'm 99.9% sure that everyone will fit into these categories.
If you have any questions either post them here, or pm me and I will endeavor to find the answer.
Or alternatively Angelo can be contacted at
http://www.phatwheels.com.au/contact-usPSCRAQ website
http://www.pscraq.com.au/It would be great to see you all there.

The car hasn't raced at Lakeside since 2010, but I'm going to don some numbers and head out for this.

Hi Tim
there are a few of us considering this event and the main concern is the safety of a door to door with 2f and 2b runners on points ,also a couple of questions
- is the event run as CAMS or AASA
- estimated cars on track
- general format for the event
- will Road registered cars be permitted to participate
- I believe a MX5+ roll bar and AGI 1/2 roll bar is compliant with no side or front protection, Please confirm
Tim, Thanks for the post and this is a great way for us to try the lots of sprint runs we have done in training for this type of event

If Tim doesn't reply shortly, I'm happy to answer your questions. I've raced a road registered MX5 in Prod Sports since 2006.

A few of us have been having discussions with the club about those questions, biggest issue seems to be rops stuff. I'll dig up the emails and get back onto them, as the club seemed ok with some info sent in on the agi rollbar, but also needs qr's tick of approval.

Cal you will be able to answer a lot better than I so feel free to add in all the bits I miss.
- is the event run as CAMS or AASA
It is AASA - If you only have a clubman license you will be able to purchase an event license for the day.
- estimated cars on track
By the QR entry system (Race meetings, QRDC rd 3 Day 1, Production Sports Mx5 Challange) there will be a field of 20 at this stage.
- general format for the event
I am unsure on this, will get back to you. (At a guess though, 10min qual and maybe 3 x 8 lap races)
- will Road registered cars be permitted to participate
http://qldraceways.com.au/competition-getting-started <-- As long as the vehicle is compliant with the regulations found here, there should be no issue.
- I believe a MX5+ roll bar and AGI 1/2 roll bar is compliant with no side or front protection, Please confirm
I believe this is the case too, however I will confirm also.
I will also pass on all these questions to the Prod Sports to confirm.
Thanks

Everything you have said is pretty spot on. The roll bar I am uncertain about. My car has a half cage with bolt in side intrusion bars and a diagonal brace.

Do we need to join PSCRAQ for that event or is MX5 Club membership sufficient? And is a CTP extension for road registered cars required?
I am in anyway.
Cheers

MX5 club will suffice.
No you do not need a CTP extension.

Just to update those questions with the response from Jeff (aka Prod sport president).
- is the event run as CAMS or AASA - AASA
- estimated cars on track - most likely 10-15
- general format for the event - Still waiting for confirmation on this one, but probably as described above
- will Road registered cars be permitted to participate - Yes
- I believe a MX5+ roll bar and AGI 1/2 roll bar is compliant with no side or front protection, Please confirm - At this stage yes, confirmation from QR will be done this week.

Good afternoon gents,
Just want to confirm that I am in for the 14th as well (hopefully there is still space on the grid). Will be sorting out my day license for the 14th on line next week via my current membership site (cost $60). The radio for the track communication can be hired for $50 from QR on the day from the Lakeside office. Paul mentioned that it is compulsory.
Cheffie; hope you can join us.
Regards
difflock
Ps. Anybody maybe have a spare set of 15 x 7 inch rims for sale or for a lent for the event?
