I'm in. Was there this afternoon, doing the mid-week sprint and managed to find 1.5 seconds from May's round for a 1:07.6506, which considering I was wrapped eking under 1:09 in the second session was quite something.

Just released via the MX5CQ Motorsport Email List, and republished here for others.

Trackday Shock! 50 drivers get a FULL DAY at Lakeside, for a half-day price!

Well Drivers, that's the headline I'd like to write. But I'm going to need your help.

Here's the deal: If I can get 50 or more paid entrants to our next trackday, I will extend the booking to a full day, instead of our usual half day. To make it happen, I need you to enter early, and do a bit of recruiting.

Why make this offer? Well for the last few years trackdays have been very well attended, and the club has been able to subsidise extending the final trackday of the year. Not so this year; numbers are down, and costs are up. However at 50 individual entries, we can just afford to do a full day outright, which means more track time for your dollar, and you pack a whole lot more into your day, especially if you are taking leave.

Fifty is achievable, and we've done it before.

So how will it work?
1. I need you to do a Super Early Bird entry and pay your entry fee by Monday 12/11
2. If you've got a friend who's been umm-ing and ah-ing about doing track, encourage them to enter (provided you trust them on track with you)
3. I will publish The Tally of entrant numbers, so everyone can see progress (Location tba)
4. On Tuesday 13/11 I will announce if we have sufficient entry fees to extend the booking
5. If I [/list]do extend the booking, it's up to you to get yourself there earlier (Gosh! What a terrible problem to have.)

The fine print
1. Entries are done as normal.
2. Individual entries are worth one point in The Tally. Member's Partners are worth 0.5 points.
3. Only paid entries will be included in The Tally.
4. I will limit entries to 60 drivers (5 groups of twelve).
5. If there are more than 60 entries, regular MX5CQ Trackday supporters get priority. This is entirely at my discretion.
6. If the booking is extended, there will be no refunds offered if you cancel. Again, this is at my discretion, determined by the financial situation.

So that's it. Help me to help you go home extra tired and extra happy. Enter early. Bring a mate.

PS: The Tally = 5 at time of writing

Thanks zero00. I'm having one of those days. Requested a CTP extension from Suncorp this morning: they sent a reply but no attachment. Went back to them and they re-sent with the attachment...which had the wrong date of event listed. Must have new people on.

OK JBT, seems we all have those days! So feel sorry for the poor guy in his Porsche when 'attacked' by an NC!!

Sure is John! I reckoned you and Regie would get a real kick out of it - I've only watched it 3 times now full screen with the volume up!

Well Plohl has recruited me. Signed up, got a license, entered online, got the indemnity form from the club website. I'll sort CTP tomorrow.

Anything else i need to do?
The car sees track events on dirt at IWMAC under cams rules. So plastic on the battery, seat, fire ex etc are all sorted.

Should be a good couple of days, IWMAC dirt sprints sunday, lakeside monday. Car may be the dirtiest there.

Well Plohl has recruited me.

Well done that man!
Our trackdays are pretty relaxed. If your car passes CAMS scrutineering you are ready!
You only need Jeans, Long Sleeves and Shoes. And skid lid of course.

I always said I couldn't justify a day off work for a 1/2 day at the track. :P
