Morgan Park Track day - Wed 12 August (BNE Ekka Hol)

All,

Had a fantastic day with SDT who run a very effective track day at Morgan Park.

I've done several track days at QR Lakeside and QR Willowbank - both of which are nice track, but Morgan Park is built for great handling cars. If you've not taken your MX5 to Morgan Park then you are missing out. It has many good left and right hand sections with nice elements that just make the car shine against high powered straight line cars. I cannot over sell how good this track is for drivers who like twisty bits. The track is fairly safe too, with lots of clear run off areas and minimal chance of hitting something solid if you do make an error in judging talent.

SDT are looking to run a Morgan Park Track day on Wed 12 August (BNE Ekka Hol) which means you won't need to ask for time off from work. Obviously, the drive to and from is about 2 hours, but the road is good quality with plenty of passing lanes and safe areas to stop and relax to break up the drive.

At this stage, looking for interest and if they get enough numbers, the day will go ahead - currently looking at around $220 for the day and you get access to professional and experienced motor sport drivers to assist with technique and entry/exit points (and totally optional if you need).

I planning on going and would welcome others to register their interest.

Is this like the other days so far this year, including training with instructors if wanted?

However I'm planning on the October session.

Yes it will be like all their days at Morgan Park, no racing rather driver education/training. I'll post a few videos of when Chris was in the car and you car hear (hopefully) his advice and comments. The camera was off when we stopped in the pits and talked some more.

Just to be clear, there is more track time than you can imagine and you don't have have any instructors if you don't want. Very relaxed day.

How do i get extra days working if I can't get you lot to come along to these days???????

Unfortunately i will be somewhere in eastern indonesia on the day, head off for 7 weeks on tuesday.

Hope the day goes ahead and we get some converts to Morgan Park. In my opinion the best track we get access to in a short run from Brisbane with something for everyone. Also, the format is the best way to improve your driving.

Hey S...D.. and others. The website of the Coy that runs the training days is sdt.com.au
If you open it and go to the "Adventures in Driving" drop down box, it will offer various, including 'Sports Driver Training'-track time.
This will reveal a Download for the Morgan Pk. training day flyer info, (including map), and also a "Driver Registration" form.

No point filling it in until the confirmation of a 'training day' on the 12th Auguast is a reality. I have left a message requesting the 'status' of this, and will share any response, as I am sure Grant will when advised, but I'm guessing the EOI numbers will be relevant to the outcome.
