I have competed in the HRCC and Noosa Car Club event held in November a few times.
The track is awesome and will get your attention!!!!!
If you get the chance before hand go for a track walk so you know what you are in for, it will take a couple of years to get really comfortable with the track to go really fast.
Also look up youtube for videos to get an idea of where it goes.
My advice is take it easy on the first run of each day as the track could have leaf litter or still be damp, depending on the weather, and build up the pace over the weekend. The track has broken a few cars and egos over the years. However, get it anywhere near right and you will have a grin like a split watermelon

I've had a look on youtube at many runs and several crashes. One of the later tighter left hand corners appeared in two of the clips.
It does look like a lot of fun, but not much room for mistakes!

Oh wow. I just noticed my comments from 3 years ago. That's too long.
This is just such a great event. A long time between runs. Sure. But it is a hoot. I wonder what times I could do now, having more experience, and better gearing? Unfortunately, motorsport is taking a back seat for a while. Maybe next year.
I too suggest getting there early, so you have time to walk the track... it's longish, and there is no shortcut back.
You'll have a great time at Noosa.

The turn 10 left hand hairpin is a great corner.
There was a photo of my car from about 5 years ago in that corner with the rear quarter almost touching the wall as I was in a nice power slide leaving two stripes on the road with my old Zed, and then the little flip flop at the finish line is a big commitment to get right.
It is a very rewarding piece of road to drive fast. As others have said, you will have a ball up there, just treat the track with respect, it does take a couple of years to learn.

...and the entry list confirms I'll be flying the Mx5 flag alone, and will be competing with:
BMW E36
BMW M3
Mazda Rx7 (x2)
Ford Fiesta
Jaguar Mark 1 (Max Parnell)
Should be fun!

What are you doing now, Mark? Is your car having a tea party with Gina?
I would like to get along to this for a sticky beak - but my weekends seem to evaporate these days!

At the end of day 1, my car is intact and I have PB of 68.02, and running second place in class.
Quinton Nicholson is beating me in class in his BMW M3. He's also double entered driving the 750hp+ landcruiser station wagon, which is quite a machine.
A Lancer and a Datsun 120y both left the track on a tilt tray, both with smashed front suspension, courtesy of some solid trackside landscape.
So much neat machinery to drool over! It's safe to say I've had a fun day!
