Hi,
The first round of the Ipswich West Moreton Auto Club (IWMAC) dirt sprints is on Sunday 29 March 2015. This is a few weeks away so plenty of time to get the car sorted.
IWMAC has been around for ages and run a dirt sprint or autocross round once a month. The club is located between the Ipswich go-kart track and Queensland raceway, next to the dirt go-kart track. It's a great way to improve driving technique as the surface is hard packed clay and limited in grip compared to a tarmac surface.
The format for the dirt sprint: 6 rounds, one standing and one flying lap of the course per round. Your fastest round of the day counts.
To sign up, please check out the website: http://www.iwmac.org.au/home.php
General requirements for the car can be found here: http://www.iwmac.org.au/how-to-start.php
The event is run under cams and requires a Level 2 Speed license. These can be obtained as a day or year license on the day. Cams license require you to be a member on an affiliated car club. Again, club membership can be sorted out on the day. The event costs $110 for non club members, cams license is ~$100 for a year.
If you have any questions please let me know. Below is a video of one round in of the dirt sprint track.
