2015 Queensland Interclub Challenge

Postby adidistyle » Sun Feb 15, 2015 9:41 pm

2015 QLD Inter-Club Challenge
Well it's finally off the ground... there will be a point scoring Queensland inter-club challenge this year. This is an move to inject some interest for competitive drivers across a variety of speed and non-speed events, and to build some inter-club camaraderie and or rivalry. Clubs accrue points on the basis of how well their five best performing members go in each event, and the year ends with a daytime show'n'shine and presentation.

The competition will not be standalone events, but will piggy back off eight other events that were happening anyway. This years events are:

Sunday March 22 – Khanacross at Willowbank (HSCCQ- CAMS Event)
Friday May 1 – Night Observation Run (MGCC Qld - CAMS Event)
Saturday May 2 – Mt Cotton Hillclimb (MGCC Qld - CAMS Event)
Sunday May 17 - Regularity Sprint - Lakeside (BMWCC / AROCQ - AASA Event)
Friday July 17 – Night Observation Run (MGCC Qld / Z car Club - CAMS Event)
Sunday Aug 16 – Lakeside skid pan DTC (Lotus Club- AASA Event)
Sunday Sept 27 – Motorkhana at Willowbank (HSCCQ- CAMS Event)
Date TBA Oct/Nov – Show and Shine / Trophy Presentation (Z Car Club)

The MX5 Club of Queensland is invited to join in competition with:
BMW Car Club Qld.
Alfa Romeo Owners Club Qld.
MG Car Club Qld
Sprite Club Qld
WRX Club
Holden Sporting Car Club Qld.
Z car Club
Lotus Club Qld.
MG Car Club Gold Coast

This year the MX5CQ is not being asked to contribute an event. Maybe next year.

I am not sure of the mechanics of it all, but if you are entering or thinking about entering any of these events, enter as a MX5CQ member to gain points and cover the club in glory  :D

If you are interested in participating in the inter-club challenge, drop me a note, or post questions here and we'll see what information can be turned up.

Hello Drivers,

Please find attached the Inter Club Championship "Rules". They are a little confusing, but you'll get the gist of it. There is also a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/2015-Int ... 1600797517
I have yet to have the MX5 club pay up to be a participant in the series. Please note that anyone can attend these events, but in order to score ICC points you must be a financial member of MX5CQ and enter as a club member.

The upcoming events are:

1. Khanacross, Willowbank. Sunday 22 March 2015. Hosted by HSCCQ
The first point scoring event of the year is a Khanacross, on bitumen, at Willowbank, in the car parks behind the drag strip. Khanacross is like a scaled up motorkhana, but not so confusing, with speeds up to 100kph. They are an absolute hoot, and cheap as. Even if you are not interested in the ICC, it is still worth getting out there and having a go. This is a CAMS event.
To enter, go to http://www.hsccq.com/upcoming-events/hs ... cross-rd1/
For information on preparation, go to http://www.hsccq.com/start

1. Night Observation Run, hosted by MGCCQ Friday 1st May
Time (depart): 7:30pm
Duration: 1.5 to 2 hours
Location: Starts and finishes at 8/16 Collinsvale Street Rocklea,
Course: Is on Public Roads (about 50klm). You make all observations from your car
What you need: A pen, a spare pen!, UBD map, 2009 or later, A navigator to assist the driver
You DO NOT need : CAMS or AASA license
Cost $20.00 per car
You could also go to a practice event on 20/3 or 17/4, if you wish. More info: Malcom Spiden 3266 6350 or spidenm@yahoo.com.au

3. Hillclimb, Mt Cotton Saturday 2nd May. Hosted by MGCCQ
This day is part of MGCCQ annual Iron Man Competition. The Hillclimb is very well known, challenging and technical event. Get more info at: mgccq.com.au At the time of writing, supplementary regs are yet to be released. This is a CAMS event.

4. Regularity Sprint, Lakeside Sunday 17th May 2015. Hosted by BMW Club.
This will be a big charity event, with all proceeds to go to Beyond Blue. Entries limited to 24 teams of 4 drivers/cars, so this is certain to be oversubscribed. There will be various other opportunities such as (paid) Ferrari rides etc to aid the fundraising, and the BMW club is trying to attract sponsorship and TV coverage.
