The HSCCQ will be hosting a CNT Motorkhana this Sunday 9/2, out behind the dragstrip at Willowbank. http://www.hsccq.com/upcoming-events/hsccq-come-and-try-motorkhana/
This event is designed as an introduction to Motorkhana, conducted in a friendly, supportive non-competitive environment. Motorkhana is great for developing car control skills, and you get to have heaps of fun without getting your car confiscated!

Sunday's session will be a little different from those past, with a new emphasis on developing and practising some key motorkhana skills, namely Handbrake turns, and "low" speed cornering. This will be of benefit to old and new players. The plan is to run the basic "this is how motorkhanas run" session, followed by a Handbrake intensive course, then a cornering focussed course, then move on to more complex courses. Timing will be run on as many courses as possible, so you can see the results of different techniques.

Registration/entry/scrutineering is from 8:00-9:30am, with driving starting about 10:30am. Things usually wind up by about 3:30pm.

Entry is cheap, and can be done on the day, as can organising a CAMS day license if required. It is really helpful if you enter/pay online or at least bring a prefilled-out entry form with you. Don't forget to organise your CTP extension aka Rally Insurance. It is also helpful to let Keith Butcher know if you plan on attending. Please see here for official details and entry forms http://www.hsccq.com/upcoming-events/hsccq-come-and-try-motorkhana/

The event is conducted on bitumen, and is suitable for any road car in decent condition... a properly adjusted handbrake will help you get the most out of the day. Shirt sleeves, shorts and closed in shoes are minimum attire. Drivers of convertibles must wear a helmet, regardless of whether the top is up, down or a hardtop is fitted.

Please note there is no catering on site and it will probably be hot, so bring lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat.
