Off to an early start for 2013!!

Just 8 weeks to go and we hit the track again at Lakeside Park on Monday 21 January next! Thanks to everyone associated, the members of the MX5 Club of Queensland and the many MX5 owners that surf this website, 2012 turned out to be an absolutely fantastic year! Whilst costs were covered, these days brought together many current competitors and also lots of new ones

Let's make 2013 an even better year, if that's possible!!

If you are reading this and haven't made up your mind whether you will 'take the plunge' and have a go, at least organise the day off work and come along, have a look, ask as many questions as you like and in particular ask the guys and girls how long they have been running!

There is NO CHARGE at all to come along and watch, yu can bring a picnic lunch or buy from the kiosk in the pits, pack your camera/video, hat and sunscreen etc and have the BEST day!!

Maybe a few of those that had their first run this year might like to make a post and express their thoughts on how they enjoyed themselves

Whist the vast majority will not remember me, I am happy to report I have the 5 back on the road, and expect to join y'all or my first lakeside, and second track day on the 21st!!! I am hoping things go much more smoothly this year and I can make it to all the track days...
To anyone thinking about coming- don't think- just do, the club guys make you feel very welcome and the days are really well run. I even managed to have some fun at the last QR day despite not getting the car off the trailer...

Good to see you'll be back and I hope the car isn't so intransigent next time. This should be one of the best years for our club motor sport events

Good to see Rich, that was a real bummer at QR so hope the gremlins have been ironed out!!

It's coming up real fast!! By the time Christmas/New year have passed it will be almost time to crank up the cars for 2013

REMEMBER - To get the BEST value for money pay 14 days or more BEFORE the event, this means on or before 7 JANUARY!!!

Nice to see Charlie and James Hay at Lakeside yesterday in their MX5's, Charlie turned in a 1.00:088, just missing the magie 'sub 60' by less than 1/10th of a second!! James [ex Rob Fenton NA] managed to get down to a 1.04.7617 whilst having fun with Mark in the Toyota 86, swapping places thru each run until Mark finally came out in front by a mere 0.16 secs!!

I'll be at work for this one, however will be at the 2nd meet, hopefully with the bugs worked out of the new engine (natural aspirated).
