Forecast looks great. Mostly sunny morning. Isolated showers about bayside suburbs from the early afternoon. Light winds becoming southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h during the morning. Max 28 degrees.

In all seriousness, how hard is the swap back to a 5 speed?
I have one hear you can use until the 6 speed is fixed.

Mines sitting in the air in the garage keeping the ute out.
All ready, nut and bolt check done, brakes bled, paper work on the passenger seat, just need to throw the track wheels on on Monday morning and fill the jerry can on the way up there.
Will be interesting to see if the strut brace makes a difference to the car and if I can get into the low 66's.

Show off! I'm hoping to break 1:10

I've been watching footage of Matt Davey's NB doing a 62.8sec lap on youtube, and trying to figure out where all the time comes from. Most of his corner speeds are quicker than mine, but only by a few km/h. 7.2 seconds worth of later braking than me?

Yeah, funny you should say that. I'm hoping my new rotors, pads & tyres might help me go from 1:12's to sub 1:10's

I never ran Lakeside on my old and crap rotors, only ever with new slotted rotors and EBC Redstuff pads, so I dunno how much of a difference they can make. I've just got some new 595 RSRs on though, should be a second and a half or more I hope. What tyres have you gone to and from?

I've gone from Ultra crappy, ultra hard "Milanza Heros" which were on the car when I bought it, to KU31s 205/50/15. The old ones still had heaps of tread but they were crap in the dry & even worse in the wet.

I know that feeling. I was on Yokohama A.Drives, built for maximum fuel economy and mileage. Less than ideal for track work. They were only 12,000km old when the shoulders started breaking into pieces, 2 QR afternoons and 1 Lakeside morning and they were totally rooted. I thought I'd need an angry alignment to rip through them, turns out they were so hard compound that they just broke apart instead of wearing. I'd expect KU31s should be a pretty significant improvement for anything similar to that.
