Hey Roger, those KU36's served you well, Are you going to stick them on your 86 also?

Another great track day. Thanks to Adam, the club and QR.
Pretty tricky on FZ201s, definitely not the tyre for a wet track. There were plenty of spins and offs but no serious damage.
See you all in May.

Cheers to QR and Adam/MX5 Club for putting the day on. Quite a few spins out there and only one damaged car that I last saw happily making its way along Narangbah Road, so hopefully nothing too serious. As mentioned above the driver had an adventurous track day debut but despite the damage enjoyed the day and said he'd be back.
Had a good battle with another NB in group 4 and we ended up pushing each other down low 1:18s in our third session, which going by Natsoft hold up pretty well. That was about the best of the conditions, with the surface starting to dry a little in the braking approach to Hungry, but another shower put paid to that. I just couldn't get myself flat in fourth through the Kink, I was never comfortable heading down the back of the course out of the Carousel down to Hungry, and turn 6 had me fairly spooked as well. Still, I only had a couple of moments, both in Hungry that were so minor I wondered if they actually happened but the GoPro picked up the little rise in revs and the minor steering correction. I was pretty conservative with turn in speeds, focusing on smooth throttle through the corners and trying to get exits right - seemed to work okay.
Highlight of the day was following the impromptu drift clinic put on by a white NA on what the owner described as cheap Chinese tyres, especially the big tail out moment on the way down the hill INTO turn 6. You can hear me laugh out loud in the GoPro footage at one effort in the top section of the Carousel.
Finally got some photos of the Jaffa in action courtesy of mattyredlocks - thanks mate!

Was thinking of that Keith on another set of wheels but then I don't drive it!! Under 200km so far this year and less than 1,000 since the last service August last year. Hopefully thw weather this week will be better and I will get some km's on it, just 9671km in 26 months and 3,000 of that was in a week! It's a weekend warrior that seriously does not get dríven in the wet! Mine and Zoe's red one there today are a week apart in age

Have to agree FZ201's and wet track not a good mix!

Video time. Quickest lap, tiny skate at Hungry, otherwise meh. Windscreen was starting to fog up again even with the demister on full and cold, so mid-karussel I switched it off and opened the driver's side window a bit. After entering the kink earlier in the day reasonably blind, I figured it would be best to fix it this time before I turn in under the bridge, or have to brake for hungry.

As much as I'd like to take the credit for that one, credit where credit is due - that one is a Ross Special. Not only is Ross a better driver than I, buuuuut he's better at taking photos too. Also more handsome, and more witty, and please don't hate me for everyone thinking your shot was mine Ross

I stand corrected. Cheers, Ross.

No worries. Although I am planning on running every club day this year, if something stops me from driving at one, I'll dig the camera gear out and get some shots instead. Need to score dem championship points though if I can.

Hi Vat, I was the one in the NA, glad I provided some entertainment!

Would love to see your incar if you have any, that top corner you mentioned did induce a little rectal clenching adrenalin boost! I decide to give that corner a little more respect after that one.
Although I had a slow, slippery day I still had a ball trying to stop the car from trying to throw me in the every wall it could find.

Gary got all sorts of lucky in the refreshed Bluey. Not many people get away with a triple pirouette changing up to 4th at the bus stop before the bridge without hitting anything and/or everything. Damage consists of one broken R front spoiler, a missing reflector, torn under tray and a tiny bit of missing paint.
He did one of these ones.

How late in the day was that Cal? I didn't see him spin, but I did see one guy spin 4 times during the day.

Oh I guess he must have been responsible for the cones and tyres marks at the crest exiting karussel then. I was wondering who that was, see the tracks through the grass and not seeing anybody parked against a wall, figured they must have had some good luck.
