Re: MX-5 CLUB OF QLD - WILLOWBANK TRACK DAY - 14 SEPTEMBER 2
Here are my best laps of the day.
Clubman pb, 65.2
http://youtu.be/8Y89PGKbJ6I
Sprint, half second slower than Pb, 62.9. Had GPS set wrong, no data.
http://youtu.be/mXKqjTydkl0
Some of you might have seen someone walking around the pits and outside t1/t2 taking photos with a big shiny white lens. His name is Matthew Paul, and he's posted a gallery from the afternoon here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 223&type=3
Lots of great shots in there, he's posted the ones he likes most but if anyone's car has been missed, just comment on the album and tell him your car number.

Missed mine Ross but then I wasn't fast enough to get into frame!
He sure did a good job, saw him floating around quite a few times

Those guys had a great time! Good to see my second choice race number going to a good home on the Potato Racing pink bumpered car (with the literally bolted on flares - I would have accepted cable ties as well), too.

Jamal's dorifto efforts on the cool down from the Sportsman session were fun to watch, too.

Cable tied may have been an improvement :p His mirrors literally fell apart while he was in the pits. Granted, Jamal was shaking one of them around when the glass fell out, but still. Electrical tape saved the day.

135 down the straight no need to lift off for turn 1
To increase your straight speed work on your exit speed on the corner before the straight.
Hopefully I'll get to QR this year again...

QR main straight can't be compared to Lakeside, the entrance speeds are totally different and even my old barge doesn't get much more than that - if that! Start/Finish I pick 4th at 6500rpmm so that's only around 130 or so at that point

The exit speed matters a lot, I'd say even more than at Lakeside since our cars have so little torque to accelerate with. With a good exit, your car could be doing 155 by T1 at QR.

Sure those aren't the wrong way around Jamal? Clubman is typically ~3sec slower than Sprint.

Rookie error: Not looking at the data logs between sessions! Just watching them I can see areas I can improve already. On average I was hitting the apex in turn 6 at around 66kph - so just takes a bit of time to get back up to speed. I lost a few seconds on my fastest sprint lap by hesitating at turn 1

All in all the car held up very well! Everyone was giving it dodgy looks expecting it to blow up. But it didnt!

They were mislabeled in the Natsoft results, might have caused the confusion.

Bits did fall off it. They just fell off before it started moving.
