If it is wet enough maybe the will gift us the skidpan to use
I could use some practice in the rain.

What's the official start arrive and start times for this event?
The MX5 club page says "afternoon". Does that mean 11am drivers briefing?

Normally have a 12 o'clock-ish briefing, though it has been earlier before.
I aim to be there at 10ish, usually. No harm in being early!

If this is your first time at Lakeside you MUST ATTEND the introductory briefing at 10am, at the Driver's Briefing room, near the control tower.
Presented by Doug Chappell, this session may or may not include a tour of the track, stopping to inspect and discuss each corner. Regardless, this is a most valuable session for novices, as others here can attest. After three years, I was eavesdropping at last QR and learnt plenty, and I thought my times and technique were already OK.
So if you are a second timer, or returning after a break, I suggest coming to this session (at least the classroom part).
Note: For insurance reasons Queensland Raceways may decline your access to the track if you are a novice, and did not attend this session. Don't come asking for a refund if they do.

If this is your first time at Lakeside
Oh I've done a few MX5 trackdays before.

Thanks for the link to the event details. I usually just google "Mx5 QLD motorsport" to arrive at http://www.mx5clubqld.com.au/?page_id=51 for the payment and form requirements. I swear it used to list the start times in previous years as well.
With work I cannot always make track events on weekdays so I do what I can.

It does but you need to look at the "Events" page http://www.mx5clubqld.com.au/?page_id=33 . However, the times on there are wrong (refer to Willowbank) - Lakeside shuts down at 4:00pm.

hmmmm....rain huh, I got a CTP extension for the NB today, I think I can fit in that car with the roof up and helmet on.
If I take the Green NB I should drop down a group I'd reckon.
Shame about the rain, both my cars are clean and resting under their sheets.

The more I look the less the chance of rain - seems Sunday is when a storm is forecast and then cooler weather Monday

Agreed - many of the forecasts seem to just show a bit of drizzle. Mmm...working Sunday with heavy rain, reasonable weather for the track day on Monday. Everything's coming up Milhouse!

Just a few days to go.
If you are attending and have not paid, or have only paid in the past day or two please email me at compsec@mx5clubqld.com.au with your details.
Advance notice helps me get the day setup earlier, so it all runs smoothly. Thanks.
