Re: Cootha Classic - Saturday 5th September
I'm all signed on and passed by the scrutineers. I did not leave my car there (jolly long walk home) so am required back before 6am, a full 1.5 hours before the driver's briefing. I won't be able to leave until after 5pm so it's going to be a very long day!

Great day, first ever hill climb and want to do more now. I understand why The American enjoys them now! Was a slow start to the day, started almost an hour late... By the Vbox a 54.70 time, so happy, however the car was capable of a faster time.

Nice run Magpie!
Searched everywhere but can't see any results posted - would have thought they would have been on their website
Saw in-car from Mike Jones' 86

Nice work Mark! How'd the American go? Hill Climbs look fun, but I certainly lack the talent.

It was good fun!
I picked up a 5 second penalty on my fastest run on a cone in the chicane heading down the hill
But fun it was

Nice runs, both of you. Mark, might we be seeing your car at Mt Cotton hillclimb rounds in the future?

Glad you all had fun.... But soft chicanes, this is what I had to deal with.....
Broke my headlight cover, which were bloody expensive for a Zed, and cracked the front spoiler as well.
On cold slicks I picked up about 30 seconds worth of penalties on my first run on the Sunday, and a class winning trophy went begging due to another penalty......

MattR the sighting run had very tight chicanes and a finish line you could not see. There is a you tube video with some choice words at the end...
There was a hold up after the sighter run as the chicanes were made a little faster. There were a lot of complaints!

Yes the finish line was an issue - I don't think I saw where it was until the third run, and after they'd properly marked it.

Re: Cootha Classic - Saturday 5th September
Me and my daughter had a great day with the Club on the outside of the barriers.
Thanks very much to Adam for organising and letting me bend your ear about track days and such
I'm afraid I didn't get a single shot of our line up
but it was great to have all four generations side by side and there was plenty of interest in that from the general public. Also very interesting for myself playing "spot the difference" amongst the NA's. Though I didn't dare leave my bonnet open too long as my dirty engine bay was put to shame by the others. Plenty of room for improvement by myself
Sorry, I'm terrible with names, even with the aid of Club name badges
but thank you very much for helping us out with sunscreen
and I promise I didn't run off with your $20; there will be a Cootha Classic cap waiting for you at next weekends Club run.
Managed a couple of snaps of The American (I've got another couple I can email you if you pm me)
Didn't manage any action shots of Mark that weren't blurry, but did have a great chat, thanks, though I didn't introduce myself. Hope to catch up again soon.

Re: Cootha Classic - Saturday 5th September
Thanks to the 10 cars drivers and passengers who made up our spectator group today. I think we all had a good time, although it was surprisingly tiring. I reckon there were about two thousand people out there.
