Not that I give a rat's *rse about being first, or there abouts, but can I get an explanation as to being 10th ?

Because you are immediately after 9th?

For those interested, a clarification of points system this year.

Briefly......

Turn up = 10pts
Ranking in your Category = 1st=10pts, 2nd=9pts,3rd=8pts etc
Improve your time on that track, this year, better than 1/2 second = bonus 10pts
Attend Motorkana or Hill Climb events = Bonus points

Example
Stuart
LS Feb = 20points (10 attend, 10 for 1st in cat)
QR April = 16points (10 attend, 6 for 5th in cat)(crappy wet day with bald tyres!)
LS June = 30points (10 attend, 10 for 1st in cat, 10 for improvement > 1/2 sec)(woohoo! Fast day)
Total 66

IMPORTANT UPDATE
Administrators of Queensland Raceways have advised my today that they have installed and now run a new timing system. As from now all participants who want to be timed must fit transponders. These are small devices I am told are about the size of the etoll tag. QR have advised that there is a cost for these items. It looks like if you share the seat in a single car then you probably need to have more than one and swap them when you swap drivers. To purchase one the cost is $80. If you do not want to by them then at the end of the day they will refund $60 when you return it. The mail reads......

With regards to timing on the 21st, Qld Raceways has implemented a new timing system and each person is required to have a transponder on their vehicle.

The transponders are available for $80 - and can be fixed to the car & left for approximately 8 years. They don´t require charging and are extremely accurate and reliable. If they choose to return the transponder at the end of the day we will refund $60.

So, if you would like to continue participating in the CLUB Championship, the above timing device is Required, so your Official times for the day can be recorded. If you are not chasing trophies, then the timer and aditional cost is not mandatory.
You can always use a phone app for your own referance. eg Harrys Lap Timer

How much is it for Spectators?!

I have the 26th off of work, so I'd love to come join in - however it'd probably be safer for me to wait till next season, the five still needs a bit of work.

But I'd love to come watch you guys and finally get to know some faces!

Spectators are welcome - no charge. At Lakeside you can park on the infield near the pit area. Take the road around the outside of the track and enter via the tunnel near the old pedestrian bridge - see Point A on the map http://goo.gl/maps/6HNFy. At Willowbank, the car park is next to (east of) the pits.

I'll be there (and possibly the old man too)!! I'll happily volunteer myself as a marshal if their needed, too!

HSCCQ may also do some more Khanacross this year, which members seem excited about.

The MX-5 Club is cherry picking two motorkhanas and two hill climbs to fit in between the sprint dates for point scores in the club motor sport championship. People are welcome to do as many as they like, but only the ones listed on the motor sport program for 2013 will be counted for points. So, expect another motorkhana and hill climb to be added once the HSCCQ and MGCCQ calendars are up to date.
