Yeh, could be!

Maybe you are not seeing the elevation changes and variable off camber, multi apex corners.
And the 180kph kink in the main str8.

There don't seem to be many elevation changes in the video. But that is something that you don't see in videos. Oran Park was defined by plenty of elevation changes, and Eastern Creek, Phillip Island and Wakefield Park have their fair share too. As for the 180km/hr kink, somehow I doubt my stock NA6 would be up there to experience it. Turn 1 at Eastern Creek doing 160km/hr for 90 degrees is scary enough, so I can hardly imagine what that 180km/hr kink is like.

It is a very challenging, entertaining track. QR-Willowbank is very subdued compared to Lakeside.

Interesting. The QR track looks to be tight and technical in places, so I expected it would be more fun than Lakeside. Ah well, I must try to get up there some day and try them all!

And Morgan Park is over 2 hours drive each way from Brisbane.
Sort of eats into an afternoon session

Only two hours? :o Sydneysiders drive two hours each way several times each year for our club trackdays at Wakefield Park. Several come from as far as Newcastle - that's more like three and a half hours each way. Zan and Rod Menzel drive all the way from Barrington - five hours each way  - and they're officiating not racing! Me, I'm an hour and a half from Wakefield Park and Eastern Creek, so 5:30am wake-ups are standard practice here.

Guran most videos don't do Lakeside justice, it really is an awesome track. The fastest recorded lap time of Lakeside equates to the highest average speed of any race track in Australia, including Philip Island and Bathurst. Cars and drivers who are capable, apparently only brake twice per lap, and are on full throttle the rest of the time! Elevation changes are not dissimilar to those experienced at Philip Island. It is also fairly narrow, with very little margin for error, and combined with blind crests and turns, some off camber sections, and very little run off areas and two small gravel traps, it also holds the not so glamorous record of the most fatalities of any race track in Australia. It really is well worth the visit!! :D

And yes, we have it good up here with two tracks less than an hour drive from most parts of Brisbane. Morgan Park seems like a major hike by comparison, but those of us in the know are happy to take the trip to Morgan Park.
Pain is temporary, quitting lasts forever.

The resurfacing totally wrecked "The Kink". It' way too wide now, no fun at all.

But yes, the constant elevation changes and off camber corners makes it a ball.
Watching videos of the 80's & 90's Touring Cars leaves me flabbergasted.

It certainly still gets my full attention at 175-180 km/hr.

The widening of the kink hasn't changed it for me, the Zed needs a lot of track at 200+km/h and the bumps are enough to throw the car a couple of feet across the track, certainaly not a place i would want to leave the track at any speed.

I must admit in the NA at 150-160km/h flat biscuit it was pretty easy to drive through on full noise, as long as I wasn't next to anyone.

Dry or wet just good to get out on the track

If it is wet will be good to see how the five runs in the wet
And a chance to look at a wet setup on car

No thanks to the National layout - only good for wearing out brakes for no fun.
