From your videos it looked like you probably started further back.
And we certainly didn't have that little chicane on the first straight.

If nothing else, it let's me know that I can still enjoy spending years trying to take huge chunks out of my times before I start chasing the 10ths of a second  8)

The chicane was only added for one event. You know the dam on the left side when you're at the start line? A huge chunk of the dam wall had collapsed and there were concerns about it possibly failing and flooding the dtc. Everybody had to park up the hill that day, and only head down to the line 2 or 3 cars before their turn. It added 3-5sec onto everybody's times compared to the usual layout. My 50.005 was on the same shorter track as the event yesterday, if I could do it on the chicane layout I'd be right at the pointy end lol. Would be nice. Looking back, it was actually 2 years ago, not last year. How time flies.

Edit: found it

Thanks Adam and Ian for the great company.

Was a brilliant day, well run by Lotus Car Club as always and was a hoot having a crack at it in an MX5 again after so long out of one.

Looking forward to improving the car and getting out to more MX5 specific events as well.

Thanks guys!

There's a lot more things to hit now than in your video Ross. Yellow concrete discouragers everywhere, and tyre barriers too.

Yeah, once they started using the track for rallycross they had to put the concrete bits in to stop corner cutting. The white tyre barrier that's in the midfield after turn 2 is actually still lying in the same spot it stopped after somebody ran into it at the last lotus club DTC day. For some reason it had originally been left right on the edge of the track, on the outside of a corner that's quite easy to overshoot on... You can see where it was at the 18 second mark in this video:

The car that hit it was a white Alfa, caved the passenger side door and rear quarter panel in a bit :(

I was talking to the fellow next to me in the pits. He Saw the Alfa accident. He was less than impressed... According to him said Alfa was bought cheap and just thrown away after the incident. He likes alfas so thought it a bit sad.
