Is this day confirmed as happening, or is it still depending on interest?

Good news is that SDT have now confirmed the event will be proceeding. There is a limit on the track, and we look like taking about 8 spots - another 10 will be WRX boys, but trust me, they're not as quick as you'd think on the track due to the twisty bits where the MX5 really shines. The straight isn't that long, so high-powered turbos don't help that much.

The day is starting at 9:30 and will finish at 3:00pm.

Continue to confirm your interest and ability to attend in the list below.... I've asked that Noel keeps spots open for those that said Yes earlier so they don't miss out if we get a rush of interest directly going to SDT.

I've been able to hold 8 spots, so if you pay or fill in that form then I'll mark the list with you locked in so we know what we've got left etc.

Should be a good day! Starting at 9:30 means you'll have a nice early morning drive in the daylight, stop at Aratula (or similar) for a nice breakfast and then finish up at 3:00pm to be home before it is dark. I'll bet that everyone who goes will be very pleased with the amount of track time available, the quality of the track and option to be given advice or tips from some talented drivers.

I would like to give Morgan park a go, because it look like a fantastic track. Currently my experience only extend to Lake Side and QR. My ride is a fairly std. unregistered NB8B, trailered. I was also wondering whether you know which track configuration we will be doing?Since it is a fairly long trek to get there and considering the total cost for the day, I was hoping we will be doing some of the longer track configurations as well, to make it all worthwhile. Otherwise I am very interested. I assumed the invitation is not for club members only?

Yes, it is the longer configurations - very worthwhile and we started last time with a short track (to warm up) and then changed to the longer track later.

And Yes, the invitation is open to anybody, but outline you are with the "MX5" boys as per the form to be filled in on SDT website.

My apologies for the late reply. Anyway, you can count me in for the track day and I will get the entry sorted tomorrow. Hopefully it is not to late, considering the spaces that was available. I do have one more question though; because my car is unregistered, I have removed and sold my seats and currently only have a race seat with full harness and half cage, which means there is no way to accommodate an instructor. Just wondering whether that would be a problem, the reason I ask is because I went on the SDT website and there it pointed out that on some of the track configurations we will be accompanied by an instructor or can I assume instruction can be in the form of a pre-track class and observation and don't really require the instructor in the car?

In the early sessions you can follow the 'pace' car for lines etc. in the track session you can ask them to watch you, especially through turn 1/2 and up to the bridge. Just talk to the instructors and let them know what feedback/advice you are after. Maybe even look at some in car footage?
