OK everyone, it's getting closer!! just 33 days until we hit the track again at 'Classic' Lakeside!! Really, I can't wait to get back there after our July full day was cut short with what seems the last rain we've had in almost 3 months!

We had 55 at that day, a fantastic response and I'd love to see us top that this time, we should have a few 86/BRZ guys along to both compete and see how we do our track days, a nice bunch of people totally enthused as we are in their cars

If you pay 14 days or more prior you get the discount and where caan you do a FULL day on track for UNDER $150 entry fee??

A quick reminder of this Saturday, 'Open Day' at Automotive Plus [MX5 Plus] at Zillmere where Danny and the team treat us like Royalty!! Sausage sizzle, drinks etc, cars on display and ask the team all the questions you like, let' support them like they support us

Whilst the car may have been ready work has escalated to the point that I will not be able to attend (doing a 5 week stint). Now it is time to get the car ready for the 2014 season, however the focus will be on door to door and not sprint format.

See ya's there - will pay entry fee and arrange CTP next week!

Also book car in with the guys at Automotive Plus for an oil change and check over - only managed 28.6mpg at the last QR meet which included getting there and coming home :(

That's no good Corners, sorry to hear that

Just 3 weeks to go!

NOTE: NRMA is getting out of CTP Insurance altogether as of I think 1-1-2014 I asked the question what happens from that date until your registration comes around for renewal, no specific answer except that they would have to issue 'extensions' until your CTP expired

OK - so what other Companies DONT charge for the CTP?

Suncorp, via phone or email. Friendly and helpful, email with CTP usualy within 2hrs. :) . Unfortunately you can only switch on rego renewal, I had to go through NRMA at A$10 a pop and 30 min on the phone for two track days now the red car has to go through RACQ for the next 2 events. Same deal, A$10 a pop and 30 mins on the phone. :?

I've been with NRMA now for years and for 3 years + have been organising CTP at NO charge at all! The best thing to do currently is just to ring Gillian at their Stafford Office 3352-3581 and she will email/fax to you within minutes! Haha tell her you know Roger. She will not be back until Wednesday and I'm aware I can't change CTP until next rego renewal, it was more a question to them about what happens - they just don't accept any new CTP business after the 'close date'

I started ringing Stafford Office after they moved the CTP to Sydney, the Staff down there have no idea what an 'extension' is :(

Suncorp for me next time round and thanks for that 'Corners'

I don't think so.... Suncorp has exited the CTP market, at least under the Suncorp "brand". I changed from RACQ to Suncorp, but my daily's latest Rego renewal notice now nominates AAI Limited. I haven't yet checked out what implications that has for CTP Extensions. The track car's renewal is not until January 2014.

Once all the information's in, it might be time to update this thread: http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=53251&start=15

AAI is Suncorp.

I requested and received my CTP motorsport extension by email from Suncorp last week. It is on Suncorp letterhead.

Current licensed CTP insurers: http://www.maic.qld.gov.au/ctp-premium/licensed-insurers.shtml
Old news on NRMA CTP: http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/nrma-pulls-out-of-compulsory-thirdparty-market-in-queensland-20130829-2sshh.html

Also note that you can contact Suncorp now if you want to change your CTP to them at rego renewal time and it will happen automatically. http://www.suncorp.com.au/sites/default/files/campaign/ctpmusthave/index.html?cmpid=SUN:GI:PI:CTP:SEM:20111024:501&2473PSEM
