I will be in a blue canoe Mark - just worried about getting up thru Cunningham's Gap!! Current radar showing a lot of rain coming and Cape Byron has had over 130mm since late yesterday .. 85mm+ since 9.00am this morning  :(

I think I will pack my penetrometer!

Planning on leaving Purga around 1500, depending on when I leave work.

YR modelling showing a dry morning, wet afternoon. Our long term modelling shows showers developing mid-morningish, so there might be some dry running early in the morning session, with showers getting more consistent through the day. Medium term modelling is pretty similar, maybe a touch later. 36 hour model's not quite there yet.

Starting to see consistency across the models now, so bring a brolly...

Car lined up ready to go on the trailer (car dollies make for turning the car around in the shed so much easier). Fuel/tyres (wet/dry weather ones) ready as well.

At this stage I might have to drive up on whatever tyres I will be using... if its somewhat wet stick with the 595's or put on the 888s?

slug_dub I'll have a decent jack with me and a battery rattle gun so should be quick to do a tyre change.

I'll be heading down and doing the day on my RE003s. My 595s are getting pretty marginal on thread (no way I'd run them on the road in the wet) and I figure for a for a couple of runs where I'm learning the track it's not worth the trouble. Been meaning to try to RE003 on the track, so I guess this'll be that chance.

Must buy a luggage rack, though.

2 sets tyres I'm taking are NOT road legal anymore and the other set is just not road legal.

I keep the 595's and AD08's for normal road use, the next tyre purchase will be another set of AD08's.

The 003s are meant to be a big step forward from the 002s. I've been rapt with the 003s as a road tyre since I put them on the stock wheels mid last year. Just concerned about wear given they're more 'road' biased than the 595s, but one meeting should be fine, particularly if it's wet for most of it.

Quick question - given the battery's in the boot, where's the best spot for the blue triangle battery sticker?

Put the sticker as close as possible. Have a look at my photo a few posts up, the triangle is on the rear panel. Previous scrutineering has not commented that the battery is now in the middle of the boot. Only been told to get it as close as possible to where the battery is. I'm tempted to put the sticker where mine is an see what happens.

SCHEDULE B
17. display a blue triangle of sides 150mm indicating the location of the battery. A battery fitted in the cockpit shall have an additional blue triangle fitted on the cover of the battery or the battery itself if uncovered

Ah, thanks for that, wasn't sure of the intent there. I'll just go the side panel directly next to the battery, as that is literally the nearest point to it.

Some people get the battery sticker and mount it to a magnetic sheet so that it can be taken off when not needed. Another way is to use blue electrical tape and make a triangle :)

Mine needs to be replaced as they don't polish well :)
