 Nice work Craig.
I thought you were pumped up when you came into the pits but it had nothing on your in car enthusiasm

It was a great day down the back of group 4 too.
I was coming off a PB of 1:15.5 from my only previous track day, back in November.
I got some lessons with Doug but was stuck around 1:16.8 early in the day and (stupidly) got a bit down at how quickly the rest of the group was improving.
Kicked myself up the backside for the final run before lunch and was ecstatic to finish the morning with back to back 1:14.9's.

I don't think it impressed Doug much and he came out with me again after lunch and pushed me (literally 8) ) to a 1:13.0684.

I'm quite proud of my next solo run after that (P2/8 2.20pm)
1:14.9957
1:13.3160
1:13.4223
1:13.5679
1:13.1265

Nothing earth shattering for the rest of you but I was very happy to get that session of consistency right up at my fastest.
Couldn't quite match my Doug-assisted time and oddly Race Chrono says I could get an optimal lap of 1:12.0 dead. But that needs some deeper investigation and may not be very accurate without a 10Hz GPS device attached.

Possibly should have then put my roof up to try and break into the 1:12's but with Groups 3 & 4 merging shortly after that I felt safer with the better visibility.
Hit another 1:13.5 in each of the next two sessions but the consistency had gone.

The sessions were turning around really quickly with only three groups from mid-afternoon and I found myself on a second flying lap with the fuel gauge needle way past E  so quickly got myself off the track before I spoilt the end to a terrific day.

Thanks again to Adam, Grant, Doug, Barb, AJ and team.

If it's anything like mine, not a concern. I began my first session with the needle on E, finished it with it half a centimeter below, and it gave no sign of starvation. Usually a few mm below E is only 38L in from the pump in my NB8A.

Thanks to Adam and the QR crew for today :) Good fun day for me, learning a new car and took it very easy the first couple of sessions. Before lunch the tyres seemed really on and the track was good and hit a consistent session of 1:07s and set a new pb of 1:07.1.

Was given a GoPro for chrissie so I have video now!

Best bunch of laps from just before lunch...

Did you not run in the afternoon session, Mark?

Good to see you out there. I'd say having a good time and not binning/breaking the car counts as a rock solid debut!

Looks fast. I'll have to comandeer your car at the next QR round and see what some cams are worth in a straight line.

I tried using a cheap and nasty action camera in the footwell to catch my pedal inputs. The battery only lasted 2 sessions so it's before I really got used to the new brakes, but here it is anyway. Illustrates just how simple most of Lakeside can be when you don't have enough power to lose traction anywhere.

I think this was my 3rd session for the day, skip the first minute it is only me sitting in the pits. I just uploaded as is, so be warned it is a large file.
