NSW/Australian Supersprint Round 8 Wakefield Park

Postby Luke » Sun Sep 06, 2015 12:59 pm

Bob has sent out details for Round 8 of the NSW/Australian Sprint round at Wakefield Park on the 14th and 15th November.
Unfortunately it appears to be a points round for the State Championship. Not happy about that at all.

As usual there is the typical members discount for NSWRRC members which seems ridiculous considering this is a National round.
Entry is $290.
Dorian hire is $15.
And the worst part, they want to charge $20 for the carports!
So your up for at least $325.

Max entries is 140.
So I gather there would probably be 12 runs groups which would mean a lot of waiting. Runs are 7 minutes.

All details here is Supp Regs.

The price is reasonable for 2 days if it was 100 max entries but 140 entries at Wakefield....

I've entered this round and paid for a carport. I'm boycotting the south circuit round. Being gouged by NSWRRC twice in one year is more than enough (the other one was the north circuit round which was the most expensive one-day round of the year ... for half the track!).

$100 for a pit garage... $50 for an infield garage... $20 for a carport.

WTF.

I've entered and accepted the gouge but not for a pit lane garage...

Same as Bryan, I have entered and paid for a carport.
The MX-5 Club should consider charging for garages & carports, ... and put a toll booth at pit exit.
We could make a motza! :-)

Maybe for the MX-5 Club run NSW Supersprint next year the entry fees should be:
General entry: $180
MX-5 Club members: $160
NSWRRC members: $200
and the extra income from NSWRRC entries is used to subsidise MX-5 Club members entering the NSWRRC organised rounds.

I was going to do the same as you Guran. But I am as sick as a really sick dog at the moment, and it looks like I will miss the best organised round of the year this weekend. Which means I'll have to stump up for Round 7, at my least favourite circuit, organised by my least favourite club, to ensure I can win my class in the championship.

Feckity feck.

Briefly contemplated entering this for next weekend. $350 for a one day sprint event. At WP.

Daylight robbery.

The Aus champs are 2 days. So $175 a day which is fairly reasonable.

With under 100 entries, over 2 days, there will be pots and pots of track time, especially on Sunday.

Of course, there is the NSWRRC factor. They aren't the greatest track managers. But there still should be lots of track time...

Didnt realise these events ran over two days, makes it a fairer proposition.

Forecast is for reasonably steady rain Thursday and Friday, clearing for Saturday with a nice day Sunday. Let's see how close they get.

Garage allocations have also been sent out. All garages are full but there remains an entire block of empty car ports.

My forecast is showing the same for Fri, but clear on Sat, and showers Sun PM.

Spare carports for parking my trailer out of the weather :-)

I think that something was lost in translation. I requested that all of our garages and carports be located together. Well, they are, sort of. Back to back  (I had in mind that our carports and garages would be opposite each other, so that we could operate more cohesively). So, who is bringing the angle grinder ...

Maybe the message didn't really get through, or maybe as the back row of carports was not required, they thought this would be a good solution for us. Either way, unless I get lots of emails from people in the carports saying "it would be really great if all of us in the carports could move to the back row opposite you blokes in the garages", I won't be doing anything about asking if a relocation is possible. It would also require that I get no emails saying "I am happy where I am, I do not want to move".

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

I will start with I am happy in carport 26 and would not want to move to the back stalls. I can bring an angle grinder !!!!! or learn morse code.
