FOSC SAT MAR 7TH SMP NTH
Anybody doing this? Racing or regularity?
Due to my late withdrawal from the WP300, I have entered. Hoping to be able to share a garage / corner (I need power) if anyone will be there.
Craig.

I'm doing this, my first FOSC meeting. Can't wait to tackle turn 1!
Although garage space is a little over subscribed, so I may be parked out in the weeds.

There will be 3 of us from the club racing on Saturday, and 3 doing regularity. Plus a number of other mx5s.

Great day out at SMP North Circuit today. Really well run by FOSC.
Had a few handling problems... the worst of them was this one:
Off at turn 1 doing 180kph. I had everyone's warnings ringing in my ears as it happened 'everybody hits the inside wall'...

That was SO much fun, while it lasted. A field of 37 cars, big grid.
Nice catch Stu. Better get that looked at.

Will do... though the underpants are unfixable, we're going to need to replace them.

I could have dared T1 at 180 but I chose to back off a tad...glad I did. . Truth is I'm not really that brave. You did very well to catch that. Not sure when it happened, I only watched your group once. It was a great day and my first time on that circuit. Had the usual learning difficulties i.e. got every single turn wrong on my first outing but ended up getting the hang of it and had a ball in the afternoon. I ran in Regularity B.

...and here's the best of the worst of going through Turn 1 at Eastern Creek with as broken right rear Shock-absorber (I assume). It didn't get better the more I tried it...

Re: FOSC SAT MAR 7TH SMP NTH
Credit to FOSC for expanding their events to the North Circuit. A welcome change from SMP, and the big fields shows how popular that move was.
Driving standards varied hugely across the field. In the thick of it the standards were pretty good, but the back markers had no idea you were there. And one of our crew was dive bombed by a hugely over enthusiastic punter with an inflated sense of his own abilities. Took Steve's rear wheel out, which demonstrates who had the corner and who didn't. No apology mind.
Credit to FOSC for a really well run day. But when they grid cars of such variety and hugely disparate lap times they need to be hammering the use of mirrors more to all competitors.

This was another great FOSC meeting, very well run and apart from some obvious over-enthusiasm displayed by some drivers, very enjoyable! Great to catch up with some of the MX-5 regular racers too.

Thanks Craig! I've got in-car footage but I didn't have time to get a new action cam, so used my old mini-DV tape camcorder - now I have to convert the footage from tape to AVI via my USB capture device, then upload it - might take a while though
