The track was cold all day so most competitors probably didn't achieve a PB. No sun to warm the track. But at least my coolant was not getting hot allowing for power as intended.
Where did everyone go, a bit of rain and 80% of the field went home. The last session was good wet weather training. Managed to keep the laps consistently within 1s of each other on the greasy surface.

Beautiful day, until 2pm. But i think we got lucky with the rain holding off even that long.
I do not use Rspec tyres, so i do not think the cold surface played as big of an issue as others but i too struggled in the first session or 2 for grip but by the 3rd it felt quite Good out there.
I loved not being so hot inside the car !!
Traffic was my biggest issue. It was only my final run that i actually got a clear lap or 2 without other cars. Thanks to those who let me past them in the warm up lap to give me that oppurtunity.
Once the rain poured in at about 2pm, my brother and i, along with almost everyone else packed it all up.
Was kind of nice to get home around 5 as opposed to 7 or 8.
I did set a PB with a 1.13.4 but i really want a 12. I am very curious to know what sort of time difference a AO50 would bring to the table. But that will have to wait.
Meh....It gives me a nice excuse for when i get beaten

It was fantastic to see so many MX-5 drivers there, making up 3 of the 8 run groups. As a result of such great support from MX-5 club members, along with good performances, we have opened up our lead of the ARDC, with the points score now MX-5 Club of NSW 1,351 ARDC 692 HSV/HDT club 425
With this sort of support by MX-5 Club members we are on track to win a record 10th NSW Supersprint championship. Keep it going guys!
For me, it was a good day after I replaced the coolant hose that split during the first run. Sorry to Luke Kovacic for spraying your car with coolant, and special thanks to Tony King for supplying the piece of hose I needed to fix the problem. After that it was all clear sailing, with no off track excursions, and I was really stoked to officially join the Wakefield sub 1:10 club with a best of 1:09.81. It was also cool to be the fastest MX-5 on the day, albeit with a few fast MX-5 drivers (Hi Verne, Phil ) not at the event.
Funniest moment of the day was on my last run, which was after the rain arrived. I was first out onto the track and between turns 2 and 3 I looked in my rear vision mirror and saw Ed Cory spin on the first corner of the warmup. I laughed so much I nearly ran off the track at turn 3. Nice one Ed!

I had an attack of common sense! I lined up on the dummy grid with 4 cars in front of me and the rain just starting. By turn 4 on the out lap there was only one car left in front of me and a couple wallowing in the mud behind me. I was on R-specs although they were effectively worn to slicks and I could barely steer it at 60-80kmh for the rest of the lap and around to the pit entry lane. I really don't need wet weather training. I feel overtrained in that respect already.

Good work everyone, I was disconcerted by a flurry of emails with people withdrawing, but we had enough to get the job done.
Spin? Moi? You must be mistaken there David. Next thing, you will be saying I spun again on the next lap ... sigh.
Oh all right, it was me, and after two spins there I put it away, not believing the track could be soooo slippery there, but good grip elsewhere (relatively) - I had some odd warning lights come on, and even though the readings were OK I decided there was no point in risking engine issues in the circumstances.
Pretty happy with my time (10.3 from memory), much closer to David this time and only .3 off my best there. I need more seat time to get used to a few of the changes I have made, but yesterday was a step in the right direction.

1:14.38 in my stock 10AE with A050s. About half a second slower than my PB.
Mark - I'm a bit surprised to see you're using 3rd in the fishhook but 2nd in turn 10. They're similar speed with Vmin of about 65km/hr. In your video, you can hear the inside wheel spinning up, then gripping and the engine bogs down.

I had quite an interesting morning, on my third lap my rear diff crossmember snapped which caused the rear driveshaft to go and create a big oh-shit moment at Turn 3. It's one of those things you can't expect but luckily the car is ok and with Daniel Deckers help today back on the road with the parts replaced
Still managed second place in 2B with only 2 hot laps managing a 1.12.70 so I got some good points.
