MX-5 CUP ROUND 5. Nov 29 & 30

Postby MX5CupRacing » Fri Oct 17, 2014 8:02 pm

Count down is on for the last round of the 2014 MX-5 CUP Championship. This is a 2 day race weekend, with 6 races and plenty going on off track too.

We are expecting a good field, despite being fairly close to the Winton 300 which will see a number of our competitors heading south earlier in the month.

I'm sure it is, but I'm not sure if you will get a discount on entry...

The more goss I hear, the more excited I am for this meeting.

Spoke with Russell back in August - Andy Harris is expecting to have his new Deckspeed engine in and ready for this meeting, maybe even for Winton. That car was doing 9's with a stock engine.

David has a new engine too... A Mania build? Another car that was very fast with stock running gear!

David Stone will be back and with new tyres. My bet is we will see a 6 from him!

I am guessing we will be seeing Daniel, Craig, Michael, Matilda, Stu, Luke, Greg and Steve back as well... Maybe Gary as well? Plus Lou might be joining us for day 1, and we may see Cam, maybe others (is Scotty's car fixed?)... And my car should be fixed... It could be shaping up as the best meeting of the year!

I'm shaking the rain stick, hoping for light rain, but not enough for wets.
A gentle drizzle all weekend would be perfect :-)

I've been making excuses for too long, I want in.

Anyone have a hot tip for getting a kill switch installed in my car? Im Located in Mt Annan NSW, and would like something local-ish.

My helmet sits about an inch above the roll bar, don't think that'll pass out on track, will popping the hardtop on get around that? Or will I need a higher bar to run?

Scotty

Not a CAMS event, but I would get a higher bar for your own safety.
Put the hardtop on anyway. because it's gonna be raining that weekend.

The grand finale!
Last round of the year, the deciding round with a number of contenders for the title of 2014 MX-5 CUP Champion. 20 points separates the top 5 positions. (details at http://www.mx-5cup.com.au) These come from 3 different classes. Remember after this round only 4 rounds are counted so those who have competed at all 5 have their worst round dropped so it is game on at this point.

Round 5 is a two day weekend, expecting 6 races. We will have a lot going on, there will be drinks at the end of proceedings on Saturday, dinner Saturday night, and a heap of prizes of headphones from our sponsor Audio-Technica.

For any of you that have not yet joined the series you can enter for this round only and still partake in all the prizes and happenings on offer.

Looking forward to a fun weekend in a little over a months time!

2015 Series

We have finalised a calendar which has been signed off on by all concerned. Some exciting changes ahead for next year, more fun and competitive racing. We will announce details at the end of this month. Stay tuned.
