2014 Australian Motorkhana Championship

Postby Jeo » Mon Sep 22, 2014 1:57 pm

Nationals are on in just a few weeks at Nirimba in Quakers Hill. I've decided to head up to Sydney and have a run - you should too! Hosted by the Mini Club of NSW, you're looking at two days worth of driving for just $80. No helmet or fancy clothing required, just a CAMS licence and a club membership. Great fun, low speed, little wear and tear on the car - what's not to love?

What a shame this clashes with the final round of the CAMS NSW Supersprint Championship (5th October). :(

Well someone stuffed up then didn't they. I would expect there to be a non-zero cross over there.

Also I forgot to include the dates didn't I... Yes, 4th and 5th of October.

Our little cars are so well suited to this stuff and I'm really surprised there aren't more people involved. If any Sydney people have nothing better to do on the long weekend, come out to Quakers Hill for a look. Free practice is on Saturday, with the formal competition on Sunday.

Same date as the NSW Hillclimb championship round at King Edward Park, Newcastle.

I am going up to watch and visit my son. Some pretty impressive hillclimb specials will be running.

See you there Jeo!!!
I can't wait! Haven't done the nationals since 09 when Reece handed my arse to me. Looking forward to trying to get him this year.... Even if I am cheating by buying a smaller faster car than my old Skyline.
Really should have gone to sutton rd on the weekend... Need more practice reversing.

The NSW club did run a khana on the wet pan recently and I feel it was very well received by those who came(from near and far) to have a go. Pretty sure it was at capacity.
So lets go!

Free practice as in it's not a set schedule. You just line up and practice the tests you want to practice.

Cheers Joe! Bloody good effort by all of us. Great job overcoming your dramas and still going out there and setting some really good times.
It was great to meet all three fellow MX5ers, and the times were so close between Bob and I that after the 12 tests I snuck in by .41 of a second!
Great drive Bob, looking at the results, you gained a second or so in the last two tests, was defiantly a very close finish!
3rd and 4th production cars home! Only beaten by a very well dríven moke and Reece.
So lets go!
