The first MX-5 Club of NSW trackday for the 2012/13 season will be held at Wakefield Park on 29th July. Entry forms and Regulations have now been posted on the club website. Preferential opening date for MX-5 Club members is the 18th June 2012. The general opening date for entries is the 25th June 2012. Should the maximum number of entries be exceeded (80 plus 5 reserves), then preference will be given to members up to 25th June and then in order of entry date received irrespective of club members or guests.

Three important changes to note for the new season ...
I've also been "encouraged" to graduate from Class 1, and have decided to run in Class 4 (Clubman) with a standard NA6 and Star Specs (I won't be modifying the car). Looking forward to resuming my little rivalry with Hammer!
Other news is that Mike is trying to get three rounds at the new Eastern Creek South Circuit in 2013! Early indications are that entry fees might actually turn out to be slightly cheaper than the Wakefield Park rounds.

Three important changes to note for the new season ...
- Class 7 is now for "Modified Road Registered Normally Aspirated Mazda MX-5 NCs with limited modifications". The "limited modifications" are not defined ... but a little bird told me that those in modified NCs who're lapping in 1:10-1:11 can expect to be bumped to Class 9 (ie. Phil A and Ralph). Russell, Rob, Peter F, etc will be left to battle it out in this class.
- Class 9 is still for "Race Cars" described as "Non Road Registered Normally Aspirated MX-5s and/or Class 5, 6 or 7 cars that exceed the specified KW readings/modifications, running on treaded tyres.". No turbo cars in this class now, but will include the faster road reg modified NCs. This class will be very closely fought by several cars doing 1:10s.
- Class 10 is still for "Race Cars" described as "All turbo/supercharged MX-5 racecars and all MX-5 members running on slicks, irrespective of vehicle." So this one combines turbo cars from the old Class 9 with slick-shod cars from the old Class 10.
