14yo's.... That's crazy talk! I'm too young to have someone half my age driving faster than me   :|

I have put an entry in for the 7th Sept and have dragged Britney out of the garage after her three months rest. Now to get her ready for some track time.

I will be the one driving at 80 kph in the middle of the road holding everyone up and then pulling over without indicating, for a quick cupper on the side of the road - yes I have refined my driving skills doing 12,750 km in my Falcon with a caravan on the back, rarely going over 95kph !!!!! I also crossed the Nullabour with only one CD in the car, the sound track to Burlesque, so if I arrive in a Cher costume don't be surprised - it's burlesque !!!!!!

Welcome back Peter! Though it seems Britney has thrown a hissy fit :(

Good result for the Club yesterday, now we just have to back up at the next round at the South Circuit. Yes folks, that's right, it is the last round for 2014 - so make it count!!

Yesterday in 1B Stewart pipped Bryan by two tenths, 2B Ralph took the honours ahead of two Loti, in 2C Phil led Luke in chasing the Porkers, Kevin brought home 4th in 3B, Ray finished 6th in 3C, 4B saw David and I finish in front of the two Manly MX5s with Ian coming to grips an unfamiliar car, Tony took 6A, Gus led Greg for 2nd and 3rd in SVB, and Matt 6th in SVD.

Thanks to them, and all the other Club members who earned valuable points for the Club in its pursuit of the 2014 Club Championship.

A very enjoyable day dicing with Gus and Bryan, for a 1.14.2 and 2nd in 3A for some good points.

A big over-rev when I grabbed 2nd instead of 4th, with accompanying clatter and rattles ended what was a highly enjoyable day.

Russell B listened to the motor on Monday morning and as it still had oil pressure, no bearing rattle or smoke we decided I could not do any further damage by running the MX5 trackday. A helmet and balaclava helped to reduce the rattles substantially.

Another very enjoyable day with a 1.14.08 and first class 5, but now to pull out the lifters to see where the damage is.

A fantastic effort by the MX5 club to run two consecutive events, thanks to all volunteers and officials, and to Cobbie for the left over choc chip muffins - very tasty.

Ooops, I missed your excellent result in 3A  well done!

Sounds like Britney has a bit of hypochondria, she went even faster with her rattle!! You had better leave well enough alone, at least until after the next round 8)

Another very well organised double event run by the MX5 Club, with the Supersprint championship on Sunday, followed by the club trackday on Monday. As usual both days went very smoothly and we all got plenty of track time.

I had great results, improving my PB times both on R-Spec (1:13.39) and S-Spec tyres (1:14.50 on the PBox but officially recorded as 1:14.75). After a few drinks with the guys on Sunday night, I guess next on the list for me is to start driving with both hands on the steering wheel and see if that will improve my times a bit more! I'm afraid Phil will have to wait 'til next round to see that happening, though.

Funny that, I watched your vids of the EC round, and thought the same. Then I watched mine from WP ... and thought the same

It was hammered into me at my OLT by Peter Finlay, that my left was spending too much time off the steering wheel - looks like that bad habit is creeping back. Though just how much difference it makes I am not sure (cornering excepted), I suppose that it is a case of developing and maintain good habits so that when you really need it, it is there.

Hi Guys,

I am having problems downloading the supp regs for the October round on the SS site. Can I ask someone who has managed to download them to send me a copy please. Many thanks.

Here's a long clip of the first session on Sunday.

At the start of the clip the red NC in front of me is Karl from the Manly Warringah Car Club. The engine is full race 2.5 litre, those in the pits will remember the noise from the lumpy cams, 9” rims with 235 AO50’s. Carl finished with a best time of 1:08.3703 in this clip and 1:08.056 on the day.

In front of Carl for a lap is Ralph (red with black hard top), his best in this clip was 1:11.326 and a 1:09.576 for the day.

Yours truly did a 1:09.574 in the clip and 1:09.162 for the day (1:08.97 on RaceChrono with a 1:08.60 optimal).

I can get the entry form (2 pages), not the supp regs though. If you really want them, they are all from the same template so the essentials will be the same as for the last (or any) round. Circuit details and officials will obviously be different.

Haven't seen an email from Bob either.

Anyone know when the registrants only period ends? I need to keep David honest ... heaven knows he monstered me enough on Sunday! And it would be nice to finish the season on a high note too. 8)

PS - watch for the credit card surcharge.

Bob sent an email on 28th Aug with subject "2014 Supersprint Championship - Supplementary Regulations and Entry Form for Round 7 - Group #1", which included the entry-form/supp-reg document.
Verne, I will forward that email to you.
Ed, you can work it out for yourself! :-P
