I am in the same boat but at least I know I'm in. I have a friend in the ARDC and he told me my name is on the final entry list.

I received a reply.

" Hi Mark,

As entries only closed on Friday we have not yet sent out the acceptance list. This will be done this week however your entry has been accepted."

The round 1 acceptance list just arrived from the ARDC. By my count 120 entrants total, including 35 MX-5 club members.

After 4 months away from the track, I am so looking forward to this!
Plus I can't wait to see what Ed has been cooking up over the inter-season break :-)

So I got my fancy "Competitor" sticker in the mail today. I'm assuming I stick that to the race car? Where abouts? Back window of hard top?

Also, do I need to fill out some kind of form for my video camera?

You might like to flip the sticker over and read the instructions. :wink:

Video camera forms are required and you will get them in the office when you check in on Sunday. Bring a pen!

Looking forward to Sunday.

I count 16 Mx5's in group 3, 1 unknown, 1 Lotus, I JCW Mini and a Storh. I cant wait. Will be watching the mirrors closely as that Storh will appear from nowhere being 20 - 28 sec a lap quicker than the rest of the cars.

BTDT. Watch for the blue flags, you won't often see them waved so hard at a supersprint event :lol:

In fact, be sure to ask about the blue flags at the drivers briefing, mentioning you are in the same group as the Stohr.

If he catches you on the straight, you are in for an experience. However, it is only the last couple of cars that are affected, as he will do a couple of quick laps, and then put it away when he catches the slower people (that is what happened last time anyway).

So excited and nervous for Sunday !!

First Time at the Creek for me.

I am thinking I will replace my rear sway with the stock piece for a added bit of Turn 1 insurance.
Any think this would be a bad idea ?

I think it is best to stick with the setup with which you are most experienced.

AWESOME DAY!!!!

Seriously some of best fun i have ever had.

I thought Wakey was something special.
A "REAL" Track like SMP is just something else.

Turn 1 both Terrified and Aroused me.

I made it through without a major issue, couple of smallish spills on the track but nothing to scare me off for good.

There is certainly more time on the table to be had and can truly not wait till next time.

Here are some pics i managed to grab in a bit of downtime.
Nothing special.

It looked like all the field was MX5,s, some nicely set up cars guys, when I was walking back to my NB to drive home it looked at me with distain for not letting it get out and stretch its (short) legs.

Want to say for a super sprint first timer what a fantastic day that was.
The circuit is amazing compared to WP, wide and smooth all the way.
Many thanks to Team MX5 for all the assistance .................
Advise from Mike Brian Keith, lollies from Russ, what more could you want.
Not surprising but good to see everyone chipping in to help other members, John got his wheel stud, plenty of help pushing broken cars onto trailers

(stock cars don't break as often

)
Turn 1 was scary at first but got easier every run.
Turn 2 is a bastard !!! Need to work on that one.....................
Can't wait for the next one.
