Was great to watch the last 2 races in the tricky conditions... Definitely has got me motivated!
Nice to have a chat with a few of you guys too!
I got lucky and it was sunny all day on Monday, even if it was still freezing and windy. I managed a best of 1.12.7 :-)

Looks like another fun race meet!

No one wants to buy my track mx5 so my aim is to make it to last round this year for some fun! Missed out too many events this year!
Looking for an SVT motor for this:

Here is my video from race 3, unfortunately only the first half of the race, before the GoPro battery died :-(
Got some footage chasing Andy, before he made a mistake and I got past :-), but missed capturing some dicing with Chris and Stu later in the race. Damn it!
Nice slide at 5:25 :-)

Some great driving there David and a great result.
Love the way you just sat back, applied some pressure and watched the fun.

Thanks Phil, cheers!
I don't know about sitting back though. I was having to push a bit to stay with Andy, and there were a few opportunities to try a pass, but I was too chicken after having made a spectacle of myself in the previous race.
It was a fun day, and the racing bug has certainly bitten :-)
For whatever reason, I seemed to go ok in the damp and slippery conditions, so hopefully it rains a bit at all the remaining MX-5 Cup rounds! hehe

Pretty much the drive of the day for mine, David. Nice and smooth, patient, great driving in a car that was short a fair chunk of HP over the leaders. It's a shame you didn't get the end of the race as you must have charged up to the back of the leading pack after getting by Andy.

Thanks Chris, but you did pretty good you know and won the race!
After getting past Andy, I was catching Michael till he spun off exiting 10, and then caught up to you as you were behind Stu.
I wish I had captured the moment at about 11:30 in your video, when you went a bit wide coming onto the straight, I got up the inside and boxed you in with Stu in front of you. I thought I had you but didn't quite have the power to keep the gap closed and you slipped through. Damn it :-)

For those of you that want photos from the Cup weekend, Scott has pics of all the action - and he has captured some of the key moments!

If you want a cd from him for $25 email me on cpd@tag.com.au for his bank details.

A little late but here are my vids from last weekends round... including of course my first ever win!

Race 1 of the MRA All British round down at Wakefield Park... and my first ever win. I gave the engine and third gear a bit of a hammering along the way, but in the end the track conditions came to me and I got through for my first win... If i'd known I was in for a win I would have thought of a better victory speech.

Race 2 for the MX5's. In this video David Stone will be playing the role of the 'blanket', I will be playing the role of 'sh*t'. After a couple of laps David gets past and I spend the next several jumping all over the back of him like an excited puppy. But, like an old dog that's seen it all before he brushes me off a few times then lopes away into the distance.

The final race of the day. On the dummy grid the rain starts to come down and it looks like we're in for a wet one. An amazing job by Chris White and David Stone on slicks to get on top of the conditions. After dropping to 4th off the start I make my way though to 1st for a few laps when the track is wet but not sodden, as it gets wetter and wetter the experienced guys hunt me down and get me with a couple to go. Great job too by David Lawler to pick 3rd off me on the final lap. More slip and slide than an 80's summer school holidays.

And that was my weekend. Had a ball, so chuffed to get a win (did I mention I got a win?). A big thanks to everyone who made the weekend possible. Stay tuned for some new ways of sharing the vids from the MX5 Cup rounds.

Stu
