this would be so great! We used to take our daughter to Wagga for the junior cycling tours, the motels are great, the township is awesome and there is plenty of room for a track without worrying about infringing on houses for many years to come!

Can't wait as this is another reason to move there!!!

No doubt you know exactly where it is proposed to be constructed .. turn off the Hume Highway onto the Sturt Highway heading west .. maybe 15km or so you climb a hill with dual lanes and as you peak the rise it would be to the right just over the ridge facing the 'old Sturt Highway' and still pretty close to Wagga Wagga. That series of hills brings you down past the Shanty Hotel and into Forest Hill where the RAAF Base is, on the other hand heading from Wagga Wagga to the east, pass the RAAF Base and then climb the next hill and at the bottom there is a turn off on Wokolena Road which is the old Highway

Yea, if it gets up before I reach 80yo then I'm all for heading down to do track days with my MX5!!

I will keep you all posted as I get up to date info from 'insiders' in Wagga Wagga

Good news!

It looks like they're getting ahead of the Shoalhaven Motorsport Complex now, which is a bit of a shame for me. It's been very quiet there for a few months. Guran, any news on that?

That's fantastic news, Roger. Hopefully they have the money sorted and will get on with construction soon.

As for the other proposed motorsport facilities in NSW, the following is extracted from the August 2014 Minutes of the CAMS NSW State Council Meeting Minutes (link), with my comments added in italics and links added.

  • DA lodged for Shoalhaven Motorsport Park
  • Luddenham Raceway, Karting facility will open in a month or so (it opened last week). Visitors Centre will have an Information Station re further plans for the main track.
  • CASAR Park – Jon Thomson (CAMS NSW State Executive/Chair, North Shore Sporting Car Club) is on the steering committee. Wyong Council gave donation towards the cost of DA 3.2km circuit. To go before council in November and should be passed within 44 days. Construction to start towards the end of the first quarter.
  • Ringwood work has started but still a lot of work to be done.

The Wagga facility is not mentioned by CAMS, although the Riverina Motor Complex website claims that the development has been endorsed by CAMS.

Definately Mark, 'Pirate' and myself both come from WW, I know where it is being built, gentle slope that should give some good up and down runs! About half way between WW and the Hume Highway/Sturt Highway intersection

If people know WW then head east, past the RAAF Base then past the Old Shanty Hotel, up the hill and at the bottom of that take Wokolena Road to the left [Old Sturt Highway alignment]

It's going to be brilliant. Fills the gap perfectly between Winton Raceway and Wakefield Park ... 2hr 45min from each. It's also almost exactly halfway between Sydney and Melbourne (4.5 - 5 hours). I can see this possibly being a future "neutral" venue for our NSW/VIC Interstate Challenge.
