Hi Phil. I'd like to reclaim (as it used to be mine) the class 2B lap record on a NB8B at the GP circuit. Today I did a 1:55.159.

Bryan also smashed the 1B lap record on his NC, with a 1:54.939.

It was a good day at the track and there may be other records I'm not aware of.

Phil,
Following the supersprint yesterday at SMSP GP, please put me down for a 1:48.8146 for the "GP Circuit", "Non road registered race cars", NB8A time, down from 1:49.662 a year ago.
While you are there, in the same category, Chris White did a 1:46.4834 in his NA8A blue rocket, down from 1:46.838.

While you are at it, I managed a 1:44.3690 on the Gardner Circuit, 23 July 2016 at the Nulon Nations. That is for non-road registered track car on treaded tyres.

I noticed lap records are no longer getting updated on the first page, but for the record, on 12/03/2017 I improved the 2B lap record on a NB8B around SMP GP to 1:54.846 and this Sunday 11/06/2017 I improved 2B lap record on a NB8B around SMP North to 1:18.033

Phil was looking after it and clearly has lost interest in keeping track of the times and classes. The move to having many MX-5 drivers competing in "higher" classes than what they're actually eligible for, in order to maximise club points, makes it very difficult to keep track of. And the massive revision of supersprint classes this year only makes it harder.

My 2B lap around SMP GP was further improved to 1:52.761 this Sunday at the Supersprints.

Nice one Guss. That's an amazing time. It's even better than Mark Hellmund's old NB8B 2B record at Eastern Creek that was set prior to the track realignment at turn 6. I think his PB was 1:52.9262 on 2nd August 2009.

Fastest lap on a MX5 in class 2B was set earlier this year by Malcolm Steel, he did a 1:52.69 lap. Fastest 2B time this year so far was 1:49.36 set by a Honda S2000. Results this year are in the link below.

How are the classes defined? I'm guessing the 2b tim is talking about is different to the 2b mentioned above.

Pretty sure he's asking about the CAMS production sports car class 2b - which is similar-ish to what zossy used to run I think.

and the letter is the capacity - so 5C

C Group 2B - Prodsports
vehicles with an engine
capacity up to 4,000cc
