NSW Supersprints Rd1 12 March SMP

Postby greenMachine » Wed Jan 25, 2017 10:23 am

Following is an email that went to my 2016 mailing list (emphasis added!):

Hi all, this is going to my 2016 mailing list, as I have not yet got one for 2017 (if you are not competing in 2017 please ignore this and accept my apologies).

ARDC have got their 4-5 March event up, so the 12 March Rd1 entries should be up any day now at http://www.sydneymotorsportpark.com.au/competitor/ .

Garages will be an issue – I have asked ARDC if there is any change to the 2016 arrangement but not yet had a reply. I think it is common knowledge that early entries get the garages, and with the ARDC members getting first crack it is important that we get as many entries in the first hours/day as we can.

Please be prepared and, if you are able, check the ARDC site regularly.

That is pretty self explanatory really, though don't confuse the ARDC event of 4-5 March with the Club's March 5 track day.

I am waiting on a list of Club registrants so for new registrants this may be the first they have seen of this message - feel free to PM me your email. Email is my primary method of contact.

ENTRIES ARE OPEN (link above)

ARDC are now allocating garages off-line, and they are allocating garage ‘spots’ – half a garage – at $25. I think (hope) the $25 is a mistake, that is what we paid for a full garage last year – I will be taking this up with ARDC to clarify.

Note, for a garage spot you need to complete the downloadable form that is on the front page of the competitor portal (the listing of events and availability of entries) – this is a no-loss effort as there will be no charge if no garage spot is available. If you opt for a carport, as a fallback, I expect we will be charged last year’s $10. garage application form here. Also compulsory reading from the ARDC website.

I urge all to enter promptly, and apply for a garage (spot).

I will update all when I hear back from ARDC.

PS The on-line entry shows garages not available, that is just to force us to use the other form (above)

Entered.
Will talk to them tomorrow about Garages as well before proceeding with the garage form.
$25 for a spot just sounds wrong to me as well.
That adds up to $2500 for all 50 garages assuming 2 cars in each.

We are getting to the point that they may as well change the name of the series from CAMS NSW Supersprints to ARDC NSW Supersprints.

My optimism was unfounded

ARDC have confirmed that it is $25 per half-garage 'spot'. :frown:

When I get an email list of 2017 entries, I will email registrants about garages. In the meantime, if you want a garage spot, fill out the form (above) and scan and email to ARDC - remember it is first in best dressed. I will coordinate with a view to a) grouping all MX5 people who want to be together, and b) fit 3 cars per full garage. That way we can minimise the cost, but it is still going to be double last year ($50/3).

Last night I sent an email to all 2017 registrants who nominated as NSW MX5 Club members.

If you did not get that email, please PM me ASAP giving your email address.
