MX-5 Cup Round 2

Postby MX5CupRacing » Sat Mar 28, 2015 4:04 pm

Less than a month now till the second round of the Cup for the year, so time to get your cars ready and rolling.
We had a good turn out for the first round in February, with some new faces making their debut's, but some solid regulars out with other life and machinery issues to attend to. It'd be great to see a some full grids, so get prepping now!

Scotty Walker is leading the table after a great first round, followed by Steve Green and Stuart McFadyen. There was some fantastic and fair racing happening all up and down the grid.

Get your entries in with Wakefield Park for the round and anyone who hasn't gotten their entry in for eligibility in the MX-5 Cup, make sure you do that too.

Look forward to seeing you at the track!

Quick question; I have a brown Davis roll bar in my na6, and I have seen others use the same at previous MX5 rounds, but mine has no certification sticker on it anywhere. Will this be an issue come scrutineering?
So lets go!

Hi Scotty
You should have no problems with scrutineering with a half cage or Brown Davis, MX5 Plus style roll bar.

Hi Guys,

Hope to do a couplld of rounds later in the year.

Just a quick question in regards to the battery isolation as I cant get onto the AASA site at teh meoment. I assume you need both an internal and external activation point. Does everyone use pull cable as the external isolation method or is there an alternative others are using?

Cheers

I just used the off the shelf pull cable kit from racedeal.com with a two post kill switch.

I have seen cars running a button mounted on the outside and dash, but I kept it as simple as possible and it works fine.

Really excited about getting out there this weekend. Nervous but excited.
So lets go!

The upside of not being out there is getting a few photos. The link to the album is here.

An action packed day, huge welcome to several new competitors, a tough day to start out. Rain, mud.....and the Wakefield chill, winter has arrived.

Results are out:
http://nsw.mx5.com.au/motorsport/mx-5-cup/results

In short: Daniel Deckers with Jim Glissan top the day. For the Championship, the Smiling Assassin Steve Green is on top, just pipping Scott Walker who sits at second.

Full report to follow.

A big thank you to everyone for making this series possible and so very easy to get involved with. I had an absolute blast and learnt a lot. Such a great group of drivers, I can't wait to get out there again!
