NC1 Auto Hardtop Stock tuning places

Postby m109r » Sat Mar 05, 2016 5:46 pm

Hi,
My first post on this forum...
I recently purchased an NC1 Hardtop Automatic 108k Km (Wanted a manual but lost the argument with my wife :-( )
When cold the car was dropping idle rpm between 1000-500rpm.
I read a lot of posts on this forum and decided to clean the MAS and the throttle body, using the proper gear. (The throttle body was very grimy)
Now it runs much smoother and idles at about 850rpm but still not perfect appears to be using too much fuel about 350km on a tank.

My questions are:
What is the correct RPM for idle?
Where is a reputable place to get a tune (I live in Caulfield, Melbourne)?

Regards, Mike

By tune I assume you mean general tune up and check.
Take it to Dick at Mx5 factory Ringwood.
Adrian is very thorough and will get to the bottom of it quickly (he spends all day on mx5s after all), and Dicks pricing is usually the cheapest when I do a ring around for quotes.
