help please advice needed diff ratio's

Postby mx5rally » Sat Jul 07, 2012 11:24 am

Hi everybody

I am seeking some advice/parts for my NA8. Currently it is a dirt rally car but I am competing in the Phillip Island six hour this year.
My current diff is a 4.8 which I reckon will be no good for the straight. My cars top speed at the present time with the 6 speed box is 170ks.

Can anybody point me in the right direction reguarding gearing for the diff and also where I might be able to obtain such gears, I do have a spare LSD centre so just the gears would be great.

I am located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.

My number is 0429300642, if anybody can help. Thanks Dave

A 4.44 from an Econovan should be tall enough (unless you have lots more power!) and fairly cheap. I found one at a van wrecker in Dandenong for $250 for the whole diff, though you only need the ring and pinion. (ring stamp is M054 as I recall, check solomiata website)
