Re: Dyno Day
Doesn't take much to break 90rwkw. My car has the crappest exhaust system - double baffled muffler, and dodgy bends. The headers are o.k, they are a chinese copy. I will have to remove the intake to get back under 90rwkw for modified class, and replace it with the restrictive oem intake. (I am running at sandown this weekend, and i will see how much improvement the new intake has made to the lap times. - Would be great to run into the 1:27's...) (fingers crossed for some dry weather)
Intake is a 2.5" to 3" 90* bend with afm and 3" pod filter boxed in to the headlight area.
With a good free flowing straight thru muffler and nice bends, it could be possible to get around the 100rwkw mark.

Re: Dyno Day
Thankyou.
I am suprised the SE was so low. Pitty there wasn't an SP or other Turbo to show what is required to get to 120rwkw.
15 entrants is not a bad turn out.
I am disapointed I couldn't go but the dwell reducer circuit had not arrived so I could run the Corrolla coils that fix the missfire that occured when I increased the boost for the dyno day.

Pretty sure it was the factory SE. Had a hairdryer anyway.

they're only officially 121kw at the fly from the factory so 99 atw isnt bad.
Std NB8B is 113kw and 2 put out 73-76 atw on the day so SE 30% higher, when in theory should only be 7%.

M.LLOYD 76 NB8B STOCK
According to redbook:
107kW @ 7000rpm
Therefore, estimated drivetrain loss 28.97%
((76/107)-1)100 = 28.97
N.SAVANAH 99 NB8B "SE" STOCK
121kW @ 6000rpm
Therefore, estimated drivetrain loss 18.18%
((99/121)-1)100 = 18.18
It doesn't seem that out of the way when you consider the normal NB8B was the same gearbox/diff/etc (same diff ratio too?)
So we can assume that all things equal they'd have a similar level of drivetrain loss.
If we do that, the SE seems to be fine.

Re: Dyno Day
Didnt realise they only made 11 odd percent more power at 7psi.

Re: Dyno Day
It wouldn't surprise me if the SE was intentionally that was because of emissions, sh*t fuel, and the fact that Mazda Japan (at the time) were being quite conservative.
I think the SE was a bit rushed into production anyway?
OT:
Is it possible to get an NB8A to 90/100rwkw on a stock ECU?
