Vu,
I am stoked that you have gone to the trouble. At best I was hopeing to tag along on a pre-organised club run. I cant believe you have gone to so much trouble for someone you have never met. I am finding the more time I spend around people with MX5's the more shocked I am by the kindness and generosity of people that go topless. This is one of the reasons why I hope I never have to sell my 5.

Thanks again,
Brett
If it aint on the rev limiter then you shouldn't be behind the wheel!

Your car could be like a secondary EGR to his Jaxom lol. & if it rains just a bit, I might have a chance of being able to keep up too :) though assuming Brett doesn't know his way there, he shouldn't be too far ahead... right??

& Brett your no stranger, just an MX-5er we havn't met yet :)

The SA section doesn't get up to much in comparison to some of the other states, we are trying to change that around but it will always be dependant on people actually coming out. Not speaking about here but just about any SA car forum organising a cruise, in general they may say they'll go but on the day won't turn up (or the night before, theres a rush of people on the net posting an apology that somethings come up & they can't go..). Who wants to organise a social day when likely only 2 or 3 people or none actually turn up? (Yes it has happened in the past).

I've seen it all the time. On SuburbanStreets, BoostCruising, CruisingSA, OzMazda/Club etc. I've pretty much just said screw them, focus my attention on MX5cartalk since things are slowly changing :) Looks like a decent number of people will turn out to this one though.

Hows the plans looking Gail? likely you'll be able to say hi? if your still around when we're leaving you could take some photos of the cars as we're heading out :)

lol, not having a go at you. people do genuinely have a life to get on with outside of MX5s (ok well some don't) & you have been out with us on runs before anyway.

it's when it's always the same people that never come along :?

GAHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Work changed the frigging roster so instead of Thursday night and Sunday night I now have Wed, Thurs, Friday nights and Sunday day, and I have two assignments due early next week so even if I swap Sunday day for night I can't really spare the time.

Excuse my absence the last few months, I've still been floating around but have had serious work commitments as well as getting a puppy and doing even more serious home renovations!! :D (which i like anyway..) ..
however my point is that all this has led to me not having actually touched my car in about 7 months resulting in it being unregistered atm.

Other than that I would be super keen for this drive Vu! But will be spending this weekend with family as am due to become an uncle tonight/tomorrow!! :D

Come on guys do it! everytime I've been out, its been a good run! :D

L.

Not long to go now. For those who are going, the prize categories will be

*Are we there yet? - First to arrive at meetpoint

*Is it lunch time yet? - First to get to OceanGrill

*Please sir, can I have some more? - Person who eats the most!

*Battle of Rock, Paper, Scissor

*Golden Spanner Award - Made a fool of yourself? (if it happens)

Maybe a few others if I can think up some good ideas.. Will also probably bring my laptop computer along as well, so if anyone wants a copy of any of my MX5 servicing manuals, photos, vids, Initial D/eX-Driver etc stuff feel free to ask. Can write to DVD or better yet, bring your own USB memory stick.

You haven't met Brett yet and I don't want to encourage any sort of "race" on the roads but i'm pretty sure he'll take out a few awards.

*Is it lunch time yet?
*Please sir, can I have some more?
*Golden Spanner Award
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

might limit to 1 prize per person then, can't have some interstater winning everything can we..

if Brett is staying at that place then he unfairly wins already lol..

won't be a race there, it'll just be whoever happens to get there first.

thats goods news Mike, is this ChrisP who we havn't seen here for a long time? bringing the supercharger i hope :)

Ah, what the hell.

Count me in too.

I've got a black NA8 complete with a sticky taped rear window. Gonna leave the hardtop at home.

This will be my first long drive in the 5. Can't wait!

The uni studies can wait. hehe

Might have to take you up on that offer of the MX5 service manuals too, SuperMarioKart

plus 1. whats your name?

i don't have a NA8 specific manual. don't think there was one? they only did supplemental chapters of the 1.8 differences & added it to the NA6 manual. should almost all be exactly the same anyway.

& we have a winner for the Golden Spanner Award already!

Hey all,

My name is Nguyen

and before anyone asks, that's my first name and not my last.

Yeah, I can't imagine there would be too many differences between the NA6 and NA8. Is it an official Mazda one ?
