Phillip Island GP Track - Speed Charts wanted

Postby OzGuvnor » Fri Jul 10, 2015 3:25 pm

Hey there MX5 Sprinters!

I did my first MX5 Sprint Day at Phillip Island GP track last weekend. Plus it was only my third time out on a track. I would be interested if anyone has any data charts (speed in particular) that they would be willing to post. I used my new GPS watch to log speeds and position and I would be interested to compare this to someone more accomplished - i.e. work out where I shouldn't be lifting! ;)

Thanks in advance.
Cheers, OzGuvnor [97 NA8]

OzGuvnor,

what tyres/susp/aero are you running as no point comparing corner speeds with other cars unless you are comparing apples with apples.

ie, if your NA8 is on 195 wide S specs with stock suspension, then comparing corner speeds with a car with 240wide slicks on KW/MCA/Ohlins suspension with massive aero will have you sliding off the track everywhere trying to match that car's cornering speeds.

Awesome thanks. I can visualise that from the words quite easily.
