Sydney Chapter Run to Huskisson
Meet: Heathcote McDonalds. Corner of Princess Highway and Heathcote Roads, Heathcote
Time: 6.30am for 7.00am departure
Cost: approx $45 for cruise

Pack your binoculars, sunscreen and get your car keys. The MX-5 Club is headed south to Jervis Bay for some whale spotting aboard our private boat.

After a quick coffee and social chat the BreakFast Club will hit the road as the sun is slowly rising. A two hour cobweb clearing blast down the freeway will land us at our breakfast spot Huskisson Bakery.

After our stomachs have all be satisfied, there is a quick drive down to the wharf will have us boarding our privately booked 48 seater, glass bottomed catamaran for a 10am departure. Chartered by a fellow MX-5 Club member, Wayne. Wayne will have us out in the bay in no time; he might even show us how the boat handles the twisties. The cruise duration is approx. 2.5 hours. This time of year is the prime time for the mothers and calves to linger inside Jervis Bay itself, which means we may not even need to go out to sea to find the whales travelling south.

At the conclusion of the cruise you may choose to explore the South Coast a little more or join the BreakFast Club on their run back up north, taking in the back roads around Jamberoo and Robertson or drive home independently. A mid-afternoon lunch will be served at a destination to be picked.

I'm out. Last time i went whale watching i didnt see a single whale. All because i was too sick to even walk out to the deck

Trevor, you should have thought about sea sick medications etc, if you don't have your sea legs Regie has recommended that everyone take the pill before we go to prevent you having lean over the rail.

Our captain is reasonably confident that we will sight whales within Jervis Bay in October as whales are already heading south down the coast from Queensland .

A 40 foot catamaran in protected waters should not cause to much of a problem be a man, be prepared and try again and remember "never give or heave up".
