Will definitely be there, I'll be down in Jamberoo Friday night so I'll likely just meet everyone at the Cliffhanger Cafe (or possible Nan Tien Temple). Very keen for an Illawarra chapter!

Bryan is looking for support for the new chapter and asking everyone to attend his meeting at the Cliffhanger Cafe this Saturday after a short but sweet BreakFast Club Run. Some of us will be there too show our support in person and I have started a list in this post.
From conversations with MX5ers in from the South West Region there appears to be genuine interest to be part of this chapter bearing in mind their close proximity to the Illawarra and Southern Highlands. If you are a potential member outside the Illawarra, South Coast & Southern Highlands then voice your support at the meeting to include people from your region should they wish to be members of the new chapter which is part of the MX-5 Club of NSW.
If you have a view that you wish to express in support of the proposed chapter then post it on the thread especially if you cannot make the meeting.

Can't make it on Saturday Bryan but good luck with the initiative. Seems like a good idea given how many MX5's seem to come from the south side.

Keith has sent an "all members" email regarding this impromptu run on Saturday. I also hit the phones last night and spoke with half a dozen or so MX-5 Club members from the Illawarra. All were keen to come along and will be meeting at Nan Tien Temple between 9:15 and 9:30 for the short run to Bulli Tops. This group is probably looking for a "cruiser" style of run, so depending on numbers, it would make sense to break into two groups for this last leg - I'm happy to lead the cruise group.

I spoke with Mark Underwood earlier today he advised that there has been a rock fall on the escapement road between Mt Keira and Mt Kemba that prevents a drive through the rainforest along the escarpment
If anyone knows otherwise then post your advice or PM or email me. At this stage I will have to redirect the route down Mt Keira to the F6 for a run to the temple early enough to take tea or chant a few mantras
I will post a replacement Google map with directions tonight.
Red93 will lead the run to Wilton where Peter Carpenter will take over for the drive down the the Nan Tien Temple. If anyone would like to lead a spirited drive up Mt Keira and down to the freeway then let me know.
Like you Bryan, I have made a few telephone calls.
If you are viewing this thread and support the formation of a new chapter then put your name on the list and ask your friends to roll up.
If you support the concept but cannot make the run or meeting then express their support with a post on this thread.

Midori, I'd be happy to lead a spirited drive up Mt Keira and on to the Cliffhanger Cafe if noone else offers, I should be at Nan Tien temple by 9:15am or whichever time it is decided to meet there. It would be my first lead run though.

Doh! woulda loved to make this run, but alas, kids' sports in the way... Will surely make the next one. I think an Illawarra chapter would be excellent; so many cars from the area, and such great roads. Enjoy the run on Saturday, and see you guys on the next one!
