I'm keen on this for my NB, probably not much to dyno but definitely could do with a tune. :)

Do they actually do a tune or is this just a competion to see who has the biggest.......KW's.

I was going to ask the same thing.

Other than finding out how much power I've lost since the car was new, would there be demo / chats on how to get those valuable Kw back?

dont know

but will be a good (and relativly cheap) way to discuss mods on your 5.....

ill be able to provide a baseline figure for the SE's (as mine is standard)

and those with mods can then compare.... :)

First to register and selected a time that best suits my commitments s on the day.

At $50 the cost of the MX5 Mania dyno reading is not expensive and worth the money for curiosity value if nothing else. Remember you cannot rely on comparative results from different dynos.

MX5 Mania are moving to new premise at Unit 8/827 Old Northern Road Dural that is part of an industrial complex behind McDonalds. Check the venue as it could be held at Dural and not in current Hornsby Heights location. :?

This question will probably result in laughter at my expense, but it would be safe assume that Mania would have a 2WD dyno? Pretty keen to see what the Subaru can do, but it isn't going to work very well without a 4WD dyno

To get an approximation of your KWs is really simple on a 2WD dyno. :?:

Ask David to reverse the Subaru onto his Dyno for the first reading of your rear wheels then drive on and take a reading from front wheels. Add the two readings together and divide by 2. 8) That way, if you can get a reading, you will know what your car was capable of before it went through the brick wall at the back of MX5 Mania and underwent a rebuild as a restoration project.

I don't think the Subie will go through a wall, the centre diff is an open type so I'm going to guess it's just going to spin what ever wheels don't have weight on them

I did a little research into it when I went to a SAU dyno day at Unigroup (also a 2WD dyno). Dropping the front shafts (apparently) doesn't change the centre diff trying to transfer the power down the path of least resistance, so it will only work if I lock the centre diff in some way (solid diff for 2WD conversion / LSD).

TL;DR - AFAIK it's too hard and expensive to do on a factory standard Liberty that I only use as a daily

No tune involved just a run on the dyno so you can see how much, or little, your car's making.

Sorry I won't be there this time, I'll be in Paris 8)
